Clearly the MLBPA Listens to its players

http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0311/1521844.html

As always, the MLBPA treats everything as a negotiating session to screw MLB instead of actually listening to what the players want. If 15 players out of 40 (I'm assuming a 40-man roster) were going to do this just to get drug testing mandatory, doesn't that say that it's likely it should have been included in the previous CBA instead of being used as an asinine bargaining chip. It just further shows that all the MLBPA does is make decisions and brainwash its members into thinking that what they want is in their best interest. God forbid some players would actually want to do something for the good of the integrity of the game like be tested for 'roids.

Isn't that what all unions are good at? Why is this any different?

I was going to say the same thing, Ksyrup. Typical union bs.

The MLBPA sucks. If the owners had a modicum of intelligence, they would realize that they could crush the union through public relations and get whatever they want.

I'm curious if the union-bashers here at FOFC are against unions from a philosophical standpoint, i.e. the very concept of a union upsets them, or whether the antipathy is more based on how they perceive most unions to behave.

I can't see why anyone would object to the concept of a union, but I can certainly see why people would object to common behavior that has developed in many unions.

I'm not against unions at all. Without them, employers would be screwing employees up the ass so hard and so often you could just rename Microsoft to Ron Jeremy.

I just dont like the MLBPA
