weird spam

So, I get a lot of spam. Most of the time, I just delete the stuff right away, but this thing said it came from Adonis ROARK, and since I like The Fountainhead, and was just talking with lurker about the name Adonis the other day, I figured I'd look at it. The subject was 'e-mail' and there was no attachment, which I found strange. So I read it, and I don't even know what it's supposed to be. Has anyone else got this? Or can anyone explain it?

Salut, Alessandro!

Generally, this is accompanied by the ad in an image.

What it does is it bypasses all the spam filters by using a story, or poems. That way, the ad is locked in an image, and your filters thinks that it is a poem

Remember what happened last time you and Lurker made up a story for the board?

Sometimes these are also sent to check to see if a email address still exists. If they just send a blank message, then it is usually rejected by a filter. So they create an email with random text to subvert the filter.

I feel the way about spammers that my alter ego, General Cartman Lee, feels about Stan and Kyle. "I hate those guys so very, very much. I hate them with every bone in my Confederate body. Long live the Confederacah."

Random words designed to break filters. Nothing special there.

No kidding...when I saw that the first reply was by SkyDog, I was sure the thread was locked, and I was banned.
