VGA Planets Anyone?
Anyone actually remember this lovely little game?
I think Battlestar Galactica got me in the mood to look back on good ole VGAP, and was curious as to whether there'd be enough interest for an FOFC game of it. Ain't no way in hell I have the disks anymore, but we could do a shareware-only (aka free) run of the game. Everyone'd be on equal terms at least, and you can still get the high tech stuff if you find the right native life forms. For those not in the know, it's an ollllld play by email space conquest sim. Doesn't usually take up a lot of time to play, and I figure it might be amusing. |

Didn't that use to be an old BBS doors game?

Tradewars...yes. VGAP, no. You need a downloaded client for it. Though, a lot of BBS's ran games of it back in the day. It's been around a long ass time.

Ah. They both sound familiar. I know I played one or the other on BBS's many, many years ago. |

One down, ten or so (there's 12 players in a full game, though it's not absolutely necessary) to go.
www.vgaplanets.com is the creator's site, btw, if you wanna read. I'm frankly amazed it still exists and version 4 is still being worked on. |

Nah, we were gonna use the shareware version of it, which simply limits the maximum tech level you can buy (in version 3 you can still get the top techs with native life).

Whoa! Great, great game in its day. I was the Birds, loved the cloaking ability. Plus, they had some pretty sweet ships. But the Borg were a menace! I loved the description in the game for the UFOPs.
Speaking of Tradewars, where can you find that game. That or Yankee Trader which I absolutely adored! |

I'd be up for a game (I used to play this through a BSS back in the day). Version 3 or 4?
