Dolphins rename stadium to......
The Tank. Seriously, there are probably alot of businesses lining up to buy the naming rights.

Yeah they get a lot of bad weather in south Florida. The only reason I would go to a Dolphins game would be to get in out of that awful weather. |

Maybe the league is pressuring teams to build roofs on all stadiums to ensure that Peyton Manning can win a title at some point...

LOL, what they really need is a retractable roof. That would be a good use of money. |

Sure they give it some banal name like Dolphins stadium. I think the Tank would be a better choice.

Just like the Colts should name their stadium the Stable or Barn. It actually looks like a barn.

One simple rule: The forward pass is now illegal.

You know, this is really reminding me of the scene in Ace Ventura where he's inspecting the dolphin tank for evidence. I'm not quite sure why, but it was the Dolphins.

Rumors have been running rampand that Huzienga is looking to sell the club. This on only seems to add to it. A new owner might want a fresh start to pimp for his own advertising. What better deal than to have a stadium ripe for the pickings like this?

Can I just add that putting a roof on a stadium in Miami is the most moronic thing ever? I hate domes in general, but especially in the South. I can understand one in Minnesota, but Miami?

Agreed. -60 F wind chills aside, football was meant to be played in the "conditions." So what if they get wet and muddy? (Of course, the real issue here is that they are trying to make the place more comfortable for fans who might not like sitting in the rain, and thus make them more likely to buy tickets and whatnot). |

Do the Dolphins still share a stadium with the Marlins?

Agreed. Let's take Manning's per game numbers outdoors over a 16 game season. 4578 Yards, 65% completion pct, 45 TDs, QB Rating 112.7 With these numbers he still wins the NFL MVP, with TDs and QB Ratings still leading the league. But then there's the arguement about records I guess. Indoors he was 8-1 and outdoors he was 4-2. Now, it's understandable a team wouldn't do as well on the road and with Indy playing in a dome their indoor record should be a little better, but Manning was still a horrible 4-2. Let's take a look at those two losses. In the first, Manning struggled at Foxboro with 265 yards, 55% completion 2 TDs, 1 INT, and a QB rating of 93.5 in a 27-24 loss, surely showing he road struggles. Except this was against the Patriots team that went 8-0 at home giving up 13.125 points per game, with opposing QBs having a passer rating of 62.9 and a TD:INT ratio of 1:2. And then there was that loss at Arrowhead. You may as well say Manning let the team down, clearly struggling playing outside while completing 25 of 55 for 472 yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT in a 45-35 loss. The loss was a result of Manning's inability to throw 7 TD passes, or stop Kansas City from rushing for over 200 yards and passing for nearly 400. |

Hm. They're adding a roof, which would presumably encourage more people to go to Marlins games, and yet the Marlins have been evicted as of, what, the 2007 season, I think?
There's a joke in there somewhere. |

By adding a dome they can have concerts, shows, games(college basketball comes to mind, etc.) But then again the Miami Arena and Airlines Arena must be pissed...

Funny. Listening to sports talk after Chiefs losses, you'd know they think like this, too. "Boy, we need new recievers since we just couldn't push across that 6th score in the 38-35 loss..." I swear, I can't listen around here on Mondays because I couldn't give a rip about the Chiefs and that's all they say ("Trent Green, if he hadn't thrown that int to go along with his 4 TD passes, the team would have won").
