Yeah...Sir Fozzie is correct. I'm nine points out and there's only five left in the season. I'm just happy that we're improving.

- This is somewhat of a disappointment as keeper Andrea Guatelli has twisted his ankle and will be out for about 2 weeks. It's a disappointment cause we wanted to let him close out the season in goal to get more experience.

Man City currently sits on top of the League table and is well on their way to getting back up to the Premiership. I don't expect a win here but it will be nice to see where we stand against the best team in the Championship.
Starting Line-up: (4-3-2-1)
Strikers -Roberts
Midfield -Sakiri / Davis / Harper / Marney / Routledge
Defense -Crainey / Thomas / Enakarhire / Boyce
Keeper -Myhre
Final Score:Man City0-0Blackpool
1st Half Notes
Well well well…interesting happenings in the 1st half. We were hanging tough with Man City and then Alin Stoica was sent off after receiving his 2nd yellow card in the 29th minute. So even though we weren't able to take advantage of the situation we now have the upper hand. We outshot them 7-5 in the half. Also Stephen Crainey was sent off due to an injury in the 44th minute.
2nd Half Notes
I know that Man City is really a Premiership team and we're a mid level Championship team…but you think we would put on a little bit more pressure when we have a whole half with a one man advantage…but that just wasn't the case. Oh well…gotta live with a scoreless draw I suppose.

We were the aggresor in the first half but couldn't get one to go. Nine shots and nothing to show for it. But on the flipside we held Forest scoreless as well and only four shots. No injuries or ejections to speak of.
2nd Half Notes
I thought this was gonna end up another lackluster offensive performance from us…we find a way to get one on the board. Jon-Paul Pittman put Nottingham Forest on the board first as he collected a rebound and put it back in an open net at the 74 minute mark. But 12 minutes later Karl Noon found himself on a breakaway and beat the Forest keeper for a goal to tie it up at 1-1 and that's how it ended.

Quite a nice first half for us. We get a goal from Wayne Routledge just five minutes into the match. Millwall outshot us 8-6 but they could only muster one on goal. This would be a nice win if we can hold on in the 2nd half.
2nd Half Notes
Millwall came at us like a house of fire in the 2nd…but Thomas Myhre was on point in goal making many good saves. We finally wrapped it up late in the match as Stephen Crainey scored on yet another free kick from 25 yards out. That's why we signed him.

- Matthew Lawlor has been called up to the England U19 squad to play in three different matches.
- The above mentioned defender Matthew Lawlor currently has a value of $1.65 million yet we don't see much of a future for him. So while his value is high right now we threw out feelers to all the Championship clubs and the best offer we got back was $837,000 from West Ham. - Well it's about time we go after some players huh? First on our list is flambouyant winger...ahh my first flambouyant winger...Tom Soetaers from Belgium. He's 26 and his contract is not protected by Ajax 2 right now. His main strength is that he has a tremendous long shot. Anyway...it would cost us nothing to sign him and he's wanting $9,800 per week along with a 3 year deal...and a $180,000 signing bonus. This will probably spell the doom of Artim Sakiri if we can pull this off.

- We finally got the news I've been waiting to hear for a entire year now. The boards has finally announced plans to expand the stadium by 3,500 seats? Wha?? 3,500 is all?? I waited a year for that? Boy. Anyway...the expansion will take five months and the south stand will be closed so the ground's capacity will be temporarily be reduced. The next thing to approach is the training facilities which are rated as "adequate" right now.

- The board also announced today that the transfer budget for the upcoming season will be $1.8 million dollars. That's a nice increase from what we had this year which was $1.1 million.

Championship League Final
Leeds 1
Man City 2e

And to no one's surprise Man City wins the playoff final to grab the 3rd promotion spot to the Premiership.

- We learn that the stadium expansion cost us a little bit over six million dollars.

1 June 2007
- Young midfielder Johnathan Goulding has returned from his loan at Morecombe where he was quoted in a local paper as saying that it was a waste of time. Goulding appeared in only 8 matches and had a sad rating of 5.63.

2 June 2007
- Thomas Myhre responded to the speculation that he could be on the move and said that he was happy here and it could take a large amount of money to pry him away.
- Speaking of transfer speculation. We transfer listed striker Neil Roberts and midfielder James Harper is still looking to move on so we transfer list him at $650,000. Let's see if we have any takers.

4 June 2007
- Thomas Myhre signed a new deal with us that will keep him here for another year and will pay him $5,200 per week....unless we find a buyer for him.

5 June 2007
- We couldn't find a buy for Neil Roberts when offered a few teams...so we'll keep putting the word out there to see if we can come up with anything.
- Also today our transfer deal for 22 year old striker Eddie Johnson went through. We hope Johnson can be the starter for us this season. The transfer deal was $1 million which is now paid to Man Utd.
- As a result of signing Johnson we seem to have our first bit of boat rocking from John Sutton. He's insisting that his starting job is under threat from the new Seasider. Well he's actually correct. We just respond and tell him to play football.
- The deal for centre back Matthew Lawlor goes through today as well for a fee of $850,000.

7 June 2007
- York from League Two have made a loan offer for striker Matthew Blinkhorn for three months. We agree to this...especially after they agree to pay his salary.

8 June 2007
- More good news from the Blackpool board as I stopped into Karl's office today to talk about the training facilities and how they need an upgrade. He said that the board agrees that the facilities are simply not good enough for this club and that they share my belief in improving them. They will be investing accordingly.

- Matthew Blinkhorn agree to the loan to York and will be gone for three months.

15 June 2007
- Loyal winger Martin Bullock has announced that he will retire at the end of the upcoming season. For that reason we may resign him to his final year. Plus Billy Dearden actually likes him as a backup which is really surprising.

18 June 2007
- Getting back to the whole keeper issue. As much as I want to hand the Andrea Guatelli...I still think he's a bit too young. So looking at the players who's contracts aren't getting extended we spy 27 year old Robert Green who has played the last three seasons for Premiership club Norwich. He wants about $2,000 more per week than the board is allowing me to offer...but Dearden likes him...and we're gonna make a run at him.

20 June 2007
- Soon to be outta here midfielder James Harper was voted as the Fans' Player of the Year.
- For the 3rd year in a row we are given $1.1 million for Championship TV rights for the upcoming season as well.
- The board's also announced that they expect another mid-table performance out of the Seasiders this season.

23 June 2007
- In what hopes to be a great offseason move...Robert Green has agreed to come play for Blackpool. Green will step into the starters role at keeper this year and veteran Thomas Myhre will now be offered to Swindon. Green will be here on July 1st.

Well Swindon no longer was interested in Thomas Myhre...so we look elsewhere and the only club that was interested in him was Rotherham of our very own Championship League. The value of the transfer was set at $150,000.

30 June 2007
- Our mini-keeper dilemna has now been solved as Thomas Myhre has agreed to terms with Rotherham. Myhre played two seasons with us starting in 82 matches. He had 24 clean sheets and his highest averating for us was a 7.38 last year.

- The transfer window has officially opened for the new season.

4 July 2007
- We have been able to secure another attacking midfielder in 20 year old Aaron Lennon. Lennon from Leeds has excellent skills all-around and will be on the first team but in a rotation role this season. Lennon for some reason is not very popular with the supporters as they showed their displeasure on their website.

+ Physio Report +

- Fullback Stephen Crainey held true to form by sustaining yet another preseason injury. This time he just twisted his knee a bit and will only be out a week.
- Also midfielder Nick Montgomery suffered a groin strain will will most likely miss the season opener.

- Finally we get a taker for Neil Roberts. Gillingham has matched our latest transfer fee of $24,000.
- And on the same day just about everyone has turned down the $500,000 asking price for James Harper. Well James...you say you want to move on to something bigger and brighter...but uhh..no one wants you. I think after that episode...it may have affected James a bit as he now states that he doesn't want to leave the club...

We wanted to play them here last year during the FA Cup tourney but fell one game short. So we get them in a friendly and lose 2-0 minus Thierry Henry. Scaled-down Bloomfield Road pack the seats that were available with 7532 in attendance.

- Neil Roberts has agreed to terms with Gillingham. Roberts just did not fit well with us last year as he appeared in 19 matches total and scored no goals.

Nothing special in this one. The only thing of note is that Wayne Thomas was sent off in the first half due to a red card.

Newcomers Aaron Lennon and Eddie Johnson scored within the first eight minutes of this match. Then Simon Lynch added one just five minutes later...and that's how it ended.

Yeah that guy is not afraid to obtain a yellow card. He's my team leader in that category by far.
