I have not read this whole thread, but since when are console games (and especially EA games) supposed to be realistic? They are button mashing arcade games, not a true to life recreation of college football.

I am enjoying the game quite a bit myself. The animations are top notch, but during the plays and afterwards. The bells and whistles added to this year are nice ('tho the violations stuff seems to be occuring way too often for my liking, but whatever), and the end results of games seem fine to me.

If you liked '04, this is just a better cleaner version of it, IMO.

I got the Cuse put on 2 years probation after the first season. I lost 10 scholarships but I am still eligible for postseason play.

where do you find the listings of the toughest stadiums to play? I saw it once, but now can't find it anywhere.

The list is only available during the preseason.

It's in the preseason edition of the "SI Magazine."

There is a HUGE difference between having the game be a "true to life recreation" and having the DBs perform as if they were omniscient. Besides, what's wrong with people wanting to play a college football video game the way a college football is played?

1 year and already "split" national champions. 2 different teams are number 1 in the 2 polls. Purdue knocked off undisputed #1 Tennessee in the Orange bowl. Only problem is that Purdue wasn't number 2 in both polls. West Virginia was #2 in the Media poll and beats Syracuse 48-29 in the Sugar Bowl. SI's headline reads "Controversy!, The Boilermakes are your 'disupted' 2004 National Champions." How in the hell do THESE two teams share a national title?

Just won my first game online beating someone using Michigan 17-14 with the Buckeyes.

Nice to see the downloaded rosters seem to work online. My players all had names at least.

Tennessee has 4 uniforms at their disposal. However, it appears that the home and away sets look just like the alternatives. I notice no difference whatsoever.

Not as bad as Oklahoma sharing with an undefeated Louisiana Tech (wins at Miami, at Tennessee, and at Auburn)

I didn't notice a difference in the socks, but there might be a stripe on the shoes that wasn't there with the normal uniforms. That's disappointing.

Got it. Stripes down the pants on the alternate uniforms. Sigh. I miss the all orange uniform already.

I had no idea that the David Alan Grier comment I'd made in that one thread would have such an impact on you. Shorty3281, you are the tops!

I'm going to bed now. Maybe one of the Wayans brothers will be waiting there for me.

I bought the Xbox bundle recently and it comes with this game. I looked through the manual but couldn't find an answer to my question. Why, when I'm on offense, does the computer suddenly control my QB and throw to a receiver without me doing anything? I am not calling hot routes, so I know that's not the problem. I've only had the game for a couple days, so forgive me if this seems obvious, but I really don't understand why the QB hijacks my offense all of a sudden.

If don't take control of your QB when the ball is snapped, I believe the computer will take control of him.

MizzouRah is right, but what I wonder is why this bothers you. Since you've evidently decided not to control the QB, you must want him to stand there and get sacked?

What I found when I was playing this game is that even though you may take control of you QB right away...sometimes the CPU will decide to quickly pass to a WR it thinks is open even before you can take control.

Other times I've had problems with this is on play-action passes. You have to let your QB complete the play-action motion and then sometimes it chooses to pass it right away before you actually take control.

Both of these situations don't happen too often however.

MikeVick7 answered your question for me. I do take control of my QB, I was just wondering why the game passes the ball for me. Now that I know I don't take control of my QB "fast enough," I know how to avoid the situation in the future. Thanks, guys.

Ok, now I have another question. How do you make a field goal? I'm 0 for a whole week's worth of tries!

FGs are tough, but the key is your kicker quality.

Better kickers will have a slower power meter. (and more distance)

This isn't the NFL where you can kick from inside the 35. In this game, you better be inside the 25 or you're asking to kick it wide or leave it short.

I think my XBox Live account is currently suspended (I need to pay them for the next year), but my gamertag is Pumpy. If I can find my Action Replay, I'll load in some rosters, pay my XBox Live bill, and maybe we can get going.

Edit: Just found my Action Replay
