Interesting - Israel spying again /
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/12/01/ai...rch/index.html
One would think the lessons of Jonathon Pollard would have been learnt- but I dont know how much of a surprise this or may be. The links to Wolfowitz- if true, could be more potentially damning to him. |

Don't act too terribly surprised. You know the old saying, keep your friends close and your enemies closer?
Spying is kinda like that, only in reverse. You never trust your allies 100%, because national interests are frequently divergent. Spying on everybody is the best way to avoid any nasty surprises. |

The sad thing is that no one cares about this and its not a big story. I mean, if we are ever going to successfully make peace between Israel and Palestine then we need to send a clear message to our politicians that we aren't comfortable with APEC and other power Israel lobbying groups using them as string puppets. I'll probably be attacked, but we need to take a more even handed approach in this situation. Israel is like a child to the US, we nuture and care and love it so much, God forbid we ever took sides against them. Sometimes you need to be stern with with your child - even saying that maybe, just maybe we need to shift our policy a tad and maybe think about taking a more even handed approach with the situation is a complete taboo in the political arena these days.
