I can understand not wanting to clutter up the game logs too much for people who sim their games and only want a quick summary of what happened. But there should be a separate multiplayer game log that includes the same play-by-play info that you get in the solo game.

Moving the frfoot.fcy and frfoot.fni files into another directory and out of your universe directory should do it. You will have to edit the nicknames manually using the interface, which should write another frfoot.fni file. Just swap these in and out whenever you change careers.

(if I have this wrong, someone correct me)

Just curious, was this ever brought up or suggested for future updates or new releases?? Or are you and I the only meticulous multiplayer league players out there??

Looks like a great update. Thank you.

I may very well use the money I had saved for the new version on TCY.

As one who has brought this up before, agreed. The new information is nice, but it really only adds color, not much help for gameplanning. This is my only disappointment in what otherwise looks like a fantastic update. Thanks, Jim!

When I try to patch the game, it asks if I want to reinstall the game! Does this
erase all my previous games, stats and players?

For the few of us who used Taco's City Editor to create new cities, you don't have to make a copy of cities.fdt and citydata.fdt. The patch does not seem to overwrite these files.

Any customized .bmp files (like all of wheels's great stuff) will be overwritten.

Ok, I downloaded the .exe file and tried to run it. I got the following error message:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT . The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

Can anyone help me out?

Check the FAQ at solecismic.com - this is a XP / Adware issue I believe.

So, does this mean we can fire up a totally random fictional league with a draft and pick the cities for the teams ? Or our we still stuck with the NFL cities as they are ?

Should player rating be affected by the update? A number of players on my CFL squad seem to have made jumps in their ratings all of a sudden in the middle of the season...

The update list had a mention of tweaking the scouting algorithm for players not on your roster. Maybe it affected the on-roster guys as well?

I've had players with ratings jumps mid-season before. Looking back at my HFL dynasty report, it looks like my TE and C jumped 8 points by the midway point of the season (from the start of the season) and my QB jumped 6.

That said, I do think the patch adjusted the scouting. So it may be a combination of both.

so with 5.1

i see readme says
"35) Add a "primer", allowing you to create an entirely fictional universe when beginning career with allocation draft or full draft."

how we do this? does it mean whenever we start a new fictional universe league the players names, contract, rating will be different everytime?

thanks

Allocation is where you set positional sliders to your preferences (that's why it's also known as a preference draft) and the selection process is automated and is completed in a breeze. A full draft is where you have the choice to select your players individually for all 53 rounds.

There's the option to select this or not in the league creation area.

There was a little known bug that would delete the last column of statistics in utility generated draft files. I noticed it when I was working on a draft utility for Franklinnoble. I emailed support to find out what happened, and they told me that they would pass it on to be fixed in the next release, but I didn't think it was likely to get fixed because I wasn't anticipating this.

did we ever hear anything about resolving the bug (?) in free agency where people bounce down to "over cap" status in free agency, resulting in a lot of quality free agents available on the cheap in late free agency?

That's right. Here are the instructions that 3ric gave us to make easy to use batch files. I switch from MP-IHOF to SP-NFL effortlessly with these instuctions. And you can use it for as many universes as you want.

For the sake of reference, Jim released a small un-retitled patch to this update on 11/25/2K4. For more info, go here: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/for...t=32366&page=1
