TCY/FOF4: Missouri Loves Company

Participating in the Group Think project has renewed my desire to play TCY and FOF. So I have decided to start yet another Missouri dynasty. I have had several of these in the past and they have all died off for various reasons.

My previous dynasties have all been strictly TCY dynasties so I have decided to do a TCY/FOF joint dynasty. I will be starting with Missouri in TCY and then taking over a fictional team from a mature OPU in FOF4. I have decided what the FOF4 team name will be yet.

This will be a pretty vanilla dynasty. I am not a very creative writer so it will all be straight forward. The only real house rules I play with in TCY is no bribing. I will be using the same house rules for the FOF portion of the game that we are using in the group think project.

And with that. Here we go.

The schedule doesn't look pretty for us starting out. Back to back game sgaainst teams ranked in the pre season top 5. I think with the squad we are starting out with 4 wins is the best we can hope for.

2002 Roster

Code:
McDaniel, Daniel 18 QB Jr* 24 53 Coffey, Marty 11 QB So* 14 58 Cassatt, Irv 17 QB* So 20 41 Wilkins, Vernon 13 QB* Jr* 20 50 Snow, Johnny 8 QB* Sr* 18 44 Our options at QB are not pretty. Marty Coffey looks like he has the most potential so we will go with him, but I am not expecting much this season. We might as well throw him into the fire since he has already used his redshirt year. Daniel McDabiel will be the #2 and Vernon Wilkins will ne the #3. Pritchett, Bryant 23 RB Sr 50 66 Lipsky, Bo 36 RB Sr 49 62 Shea, Morris 41 RB Sr 41 61 Dotson, Teddy 22 RB So 25 45 Wayne, Jumbo 25 RB* Fr 18 29 Giles, Ken 37 FB Sr 45 45 Barnes, Troy 30 FB Sr 43 64 Zaoussis, Graham 44 FB Jr* 32 59 Smith, Heath 31 FB So 30 34 Bo Lipsky looks like the best all around back we have and will see the bulk of the carries this season. Bryant Pritchett looks solid and will be the #2 option. RB Jumbo Wayne could be an option down the road although I would like to find a stud RB in recruiting. AT FB Troy Barnes is heads and shoulders above the oter guys on the team. He will be the starter this season and Ken Giles will back him up. Heath Smith looks like he could be good in the future and will wear the red shirt this season. Caldwell, George 91 TE Sr 36 38 Clayton, T.J. 85 TE Sr 34 34 Blaise, Bart 81 TE So 28 46 Reese, Cris 82 TE* So 29 44 Duncan, Ellis 89 TE* Fr 17 43 Nixon, Britt 88 WR Sr 46 46 Whalen, Wes 87 WR Sr 44 59 Frey, Jim 5 WR So 41 41 Herndon, Brenden 6 WR Sr 41 43 Bailey, Ed 9 WR Jr* 37 51 Ritchie, Dave 83 WR Sr 33 49 Ledbetter, Terry 1 WR Fr 17 43 At TE George Caldwell is passable and will get the starts this season. T.J. Clayton will be the #2, but I am hopign he doesn't see much time. He is a real down grade from Caldwell. The rest of our players at the TE position are awful. At the WR spot we are full of good, but not great options. Britt Nixon and Wes Whalen will be the #1 and #2 options. Fresh man Terry (Bed Wetter) Ledbetter will wear the red shirt this year, but I don't see him as much of a start in the future. Unverzagt, Ralph 51 C Sr* 59 59 Longwell, Jorge 53 C Sr* 47 60 Wild, Ryan 57 C Jr* 45 71 Christen, Stephen 62 G Sr* 55 77 Benoit, Bernie 63 G Sr 39 39 Null, Reuben 69 G Sr 34 34 Shea, Billy Joe 70 G* Fr 16 64 DeLay, Roosevelt 76 G* So* 14 54 Bellas, Kenyon 79 T Jr 44 44 Esiason, Harold 77 T Sr* 31 45 Williams, Jesse 67 T Jr* 28 34 Caldwell, Rufus 78 T* So* 7 62 Center is one of the stronger posittions we have on the team. Jorge Longwell will get the start and Ryan Wild will back him up. I think we will probably find some PT somewhere for Unverzagt too. At G Stephen Christen and Bernie Benoit will be the starters. Roosevlt Delay is very raw, but looks like he has a lot of potential. Tackle is a very weak spot on this team. Kenyon Bellas and Jesse Williams will be our starters. Anderson, Austin 16 P Jr 46 46 Dotson, Dale 15 P* Sr* 30 34 Reyes, James 7 K Sr 47 47 Layman, Gus 19 K So 35 47 The kicking game should be pretty strong this season. Punter Austin Anderson is very solid and James Reyes may be one of the better place kickers in the Big XII. Britton, Emmanuel 97 DE Sr* 32 39 Fredrickson, Ernie 71 DE So 31 35 Metzelaars, Tito 99 DE So 24 39 Ellis, K.C. 96 DE Jr* 23 70 Withers, Cole 72 DE So* 14 48 Buchanan, Brian 74 DT Jr 40 56 Baxter, Stephen 94 DT Sr* 36 36 Matthews, Terry 93 DT Jr* 35 45 McGowan, Trevor 75 DT* Jr 27 27 Thomason, Ellis 92 DT* Fr 26 76 We have some guys at DE that look like they have a ton of potential, but need quite a bit of development still. K.C. Ellis and Cole Withers both could be studs in the future but still need a lot of work. Ellis and Emmanuel Britton will be the starters this season. We don't have a lot to work with at DT. Buchanan and Matthews will be the starters as they both have strength in stopping the run. Iverson, Hugh 59 ILB Jr 46 69 Garner, Eric 55 ILB So 32 48 Hamilton, Horace 90 ILB So* 16 56 Burke, Howard 56 ILB* So* 20 57 Dennis, Keith 48 OLB Jr 44 67 Roy, Clyde 42 OLB Sr 39 39 Miner, Percy 45 OLB Sr* 35 63 Lyon, Monty 98 OLB Jr 25 54 Waldron, Alex 58 OLB* Sr 32 34 ILB Hugh Iverson looks like a very solid player and Horace Hamilton looks like a future stud. On the outside Keith Dennis also looks very solid and we could do worse than Clyde Roy. Bernstein, Buddy 39 CB Sr 48 48 Howard, Erik 27 CB Jr 44 46 Dunn, Cory 46 CB Sr 41 41 Welch, Jermaine 24 CB* Sr 38 38 Sterling, Joel 29 CB* So 20 38 Reese, Warren 49 S Sr 60 76 Gardner, J.T. 34 S Sr 44 44 Martin, Steven 33 S* So 31 31 Lyle, Dixon 47 S* Jr 30 30 Cooley, Kelly 38 S* So* 8 52 Becuase of a lack of better options we will go with Buddy Bernstein and Erik Howard as our starters at CB. This is an area we really need to improve on. At safety Warren Reese is easily the best defender on the team. He looks like a hard hitting safety. I am toying with the idea of playing a 4-6 and using him to help with the run. We are going to need it. J.T. Gardner will be the other starter.

Hey! Did you steal that title from me? I work "Missouri Loves Company" into the conversation as often as possible, and I thought it was a Kodos original. Next thing, they'll be telling me I didn't invent kryptonite either!
