Yeah, I didn't know they were on until my mom said something when I came downstairs... I was watching X-Men.

Damn, I watch too many movies on Spring Break.

Norah Jones went to school here in Denton, at North Texas. Gotta be the first UNT grad to make good since Mean Joe Green.

Norah Jones swept it. Five for herself and eight for the album overall. But heck she's gorgeous and has a beautiful voice.

Tony Bennett had it right ... her music (like his own) will probably live on forever. Norah's music sounds like it came right out of Bennett's era. Beautiful!!!

I just love how everyone was chanting Eminem, when Norah won. Truly classic.

I saw not a second. My blood pressure would not have been able to take it, watching all of those undeserving hyped-up artists taking awards from their friends. Pathetic.

The Grammys ceased being relevant, to the extent they ever were, when Metallica was nominated for an award in 1989 - and Jethro Tull won it.

I watched the first hour before Oz and was very impressed. The Simon & Garfunkel opening was great, James Taylor singing w/ Yo Yo Ma playing cello was awesome, and I think I'm in love with Norah Jones.

I watched some of it. I liked The Clash tribute at the end. Eminem was impressive singing the 8 Mile song live. He sings a lot better after a recording studio takes care of the song but overall he did a pretty good job live which is more than most singers can say these days.

So glad Avril didn't win anything. It's painful listening to that girl talk.

Dave Matthews Band lost to No Doubt... so that means the Grammys sucked as usual.

"Just for once I want to win an award."
"But dad, you won a grammy."
"I meant an award worth winning..."

The views of Mr. Simpson do not reflect those of the makers of this show, who do not believe a grammy to be an award at all.

If I had known ahead of time that Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen would be singing "London Calling" together, I might have watched the Grammys for a change. But as far as the awards themselves are concerned, I lost all respect for them when some crappy disco band no one has heard from since beat out both Elvis and Tom Petty for best new artist back in the late '70s.

Outside of the actual awards the performances can be great to watch. This year the ones I heard and saw sucked mongoose wang.

Faith Hill sounded like she was yelling...I thought she was awful.

Avril just can't sing...she shouldn't be allowed to ever do anything but lip sync.

No Doubt is entertaining but Gwen can't carry a tune either.

Coldplay, Simon and Garfunkel and Dixie Chicks were just a yawn.

Those were the ones I caught...Bruce, Eminem and N'Sync were said to have been good...

Yes. The Flaming Lips one their first grammy (best instrumental) for "Approaching Pavonis Mons By Balloon (Utopia Planitia)" of "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots".
They're from my home town (Oklahoma City), and I saw them back in the mid-eighties at a concert in a small bar in Illinois.

If you didnt see it yet check out the article on ESPN Page two. The sports guy does a play by play of the grammys. I found it quite amusing. Especially the Justin Timberlake comment.

Yes, there is a certainly similarity between Justin Timberlake and Brian Austin Green.

My god, if I knew that was Gew Stefani and she "sings" for No Doubt, I would have got on board to have them eliminated early on in Kodos' poll. Any of you guys like that chick??

Also, I see Norah Jones as ugly. Must be another one of those generations things.

Stefanie is charismatic and exotic...vocally I don't get it.

Overall I don't get why repeatedly people who can't sing perform and don't take much heat...

I didn't watch. I was afraid I'd throw something at the television the minute someone like Sheryl Crow came on.

The nice thing about shows like the Grammys is you can find a minute by minute account of who won what almost as soon as it's over.

I would have liked to have seen Simon and Garfunkle though.

And FWIW, Norah Jones is really amazing. I don't know that she'll always have commercial success, but her first album is very good.
