"Reconditioned" Electronics
Anybody have any experience buying refurbished products? I've never done it before, but I'm considering buying a flat-panel monitor that's reconditioned. The price for a new one is a little out of my price range, but I'm still hesitant because I don't want to spend money on something that won't work like new...

I bought a reconditioned Denon reciever a couple of years ago. Can't tell it from new (besides the sticker on the box). Came with a full manufacturers warranty.

I bought a Dell refurbed monitor some years ago. It was great - same warranty, half the price. Nary a problem.
Check the warranty. If it's been refurbed my the manufacturer, it'll often have the same warranty period as their standard products. If not, it's 20 feet or 20 seconds, whichever is first. |

I bought a refurbished Bose surround sound speaker system - still sounds great 7 years later.
I bought it from the Bose store with a full warranty. |

Nothing wrong with refurbished. as logn as it is refurbished from a reputable manufacturer than you should have no problems. Especially if it has no moving parts, and is all electronics.
