Americana Basketball League - Dunking is for Losers
I'm here and I can't believe it. There's Coach Dunkly, he's the guy going to be marshalling the troops...there's Bricks Lott. the majority owner of the Sasquatch...and here I am, getting ready for the dispersal draft.
I want to have a young offensive powerhouse, I want guys with good potential, and I want to keep a budget better than the Knicks of the NBA. It's gonna be tough. (The league is at www.simleague.net, and uses the Season Ticket Basketball engine, all sims are done on Mondays, Weds, and Saturdays). The ping pong balls dance, and my team comes at 11 pick overall. The pressure will I handle the pressure. Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-26-2003 at 01:57 PM. |

I get a PG who I can convert to SG. We'll see how the rest of the draft goes.
All in all this team is well rounded, potential-wise most are B's. We'll see how the first week goes... Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-25-2003 at 03:41 PM. |

The first few weeks...
I'm optimisitc...who wouldn't be... I set my pace, press, trap and offensive focus. Plus my stars...and then I wait for Dunkly to take this talented team.
So this is the team, I hope for good things. Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-25-2003 at 03:43 PM. |

The Season Starts...
This is Kip Kasper at KJAV...your sportstation with the most. Home of the Starducks owned Seattle Sasquatch.
Along with me are Ray Pezz, constant caustic critic, and Hi Lowe, the resident optimist. Special commentary by I. Havit, Seattle Espresso's own basketball critic. So gentlemen your thoughts on the first week: Ray: Well they raised our hopes only to proves us pessimists right by falling their next too...there is much work to do. Hi: They won their first game, John Wolykowski is proving to be a steal, this is a young team, it needs time for cohesion... Pfft. These are proffesionals, hey, I loved how they killed the Rev by 21, but to lose by a margin of 16 and 29 the next two games is horrible. Worse yet, to score 76 and 84 points will not get it done. Kip: What do you guys think of the team...(slurping of coffee)? Ray: They're young and ill equiped...they need some vets to sort things out. I. Havit: Well going over the team they have a good shooter in Wolowyski, but he's going to be going to SG rather than his natural PG position. Avery is struggling but has potential to be good. Donnie Schack and Jessie Peeler are versatile players with loads of potential. Walter Blood is a godsend at SF. They have a capable PF in Conradt, and big gaps at center. They need some depth. Ray: They're gonna suck more than do well...grrrr Hi: They're gonna be alright, have some faith... Kip: I'll play along and be optimistic as well, Ray you're being too hard... Ray: Hey Kip, that isn't Starducks you're drinking is it??? Kip: Excuse me, that's all the time we have for now...end it... Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-25-2003 at 03:43 PM. |

True to word, we need some depth. I've been posting to other teams, but think I'll look at the waiver wire to see if any goodies have dropped.
Week 1: Sasquatch 108 vs Revolution 87. Nice win, good start. Wolkowyski and Blood score over 20, and Avery follows close behind. Trouble is Avery has trouble with turnovers, with 5 to his 8 assists. Wolfpack 92 vs Sasquatch 76 Low scoring, anemic shooting. The Wolkster puts 24 away but the rest of the team struggles. Avery gives 4 assists for his 4 turnovers, ugh. Alamos 113 vs Sasquatch 84 Nothing like getting blown out in your own building, I may have to get used to it. Wolkowyski shoots for 18, Avery hits for 19 and dishes 6 assits, to match his 6 turnovers. Not good. Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-25-2003 at 03:45 PM. |

Week 2
Racers 82 vs Sasquatch 72 The Wolkster again leads in points but the rest of the team seems to just watch the guy play. Even worse, our first rounder decides to have more turnovers than assists. Sasquatch 101 vs Crusadors 89 Wolkowyski with 32 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists, very nice. Walter Blood chips in with 20. Conradt grabs 10 boards, and Avery heaves 9 assists while curbing turnovers to just 2. Sasquatch 126 vs Crusadors 106 The rematch with the Crusadors gives John Wolowyski his highest point total of his career with 43. He grabs 15 boards too. Avery and Blood pop in 21 and Avery dishes 13 assists. It is our highest point total so far. Wolfpack 75 vs Sasquatch 65 Maybe we were burnt out, but Coach Dunkly could only get 65 points out of us, the worst output so far. Wolkster leads with 22. So the highs and lows have the Seattle denizens buzzing, but mostly in cautious hushed tones. Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-25-2003 at 03:46 PM. |

Week 3
Blizzard 83 vs Sasquatch 80 We lose, John leads in scoring. We're not getting enough from other players. A change is going to come soon. Sasquatch 114 vs Warlocks 100 John lights up the Warlocks for 38, but the rest of the team is showing its flaws big time. Revolution 112 vs Sasquatch 97 Wolyowski lights up for 45, Jon Conradt scores 10, the rest of the guys are in single digits. It's become the Wolyowski show. |

Kip: Kip Kasper again wondering how our beloved Sasquatch are going to redeem themselves after winning only 4 and losing 7. I think they'll be okay.
Ray Pezz (chief pessimist): Speak for yourself there Kippy, this team is searching for consistency, like all the weirdos seeking Bigfoot, they won't find it. Hi Lowe (chief optimist): Oh I think they're okay, John Wolkowyski is proving to be the steal of the draft. Ray: You say that every week Hi, get some new material. Every day it rains at this place, and you keep saying its going to be sunny tomorrow. Get your head out of the clouds man...this team bites. Kip: What do you think of the new guy, Jerry Mevedenko a PF/C type mold. Ray: If he wasn't good enough to be drafted, what makes anyone think he's gonna blow us or any opponent away...he's a warm body for a small talent roster. Take Woloyowowski away and who do you have? Hi: It's Wolkowyski, just let it roll off the.... Ray: Shaddup Hi...I swear to g.. Kip: Boys behave, we have I. Havit on the line to discuss Jerry Mevedenko. I.Havit: He's a warm body to fill up a depleted in depth roster.... Ray: Told you... Kip: I see, well, I'll let you boys have it out, we've got to run to a commercial break. I felt that Jerry Mevedenko would help fill a gap, but that he would be good.
Jerry Medvedenko C 28 6'10'' 224 B D+ C C+ B C A good inside shot, no outside shot to save his life, but a decent rebounder which we needed. I adjusted the roster putting Malik Tobey on IR. Now I could only hope things would change... |

Week 4
Oh how it gets worse... Fire 94 vs Sasquatch 72 The Fire hold John and the gang to a measly 72. John shot for 18 points. Move along nothing else to see here. Swarm 87 vs Sasquatch 86 The first nailbiter and we lose it. J and J combine for 39 points (that being John Wolyowski and Jon Conradt). There's been a Jay Potapenko sighting with 11 points and 8 boards. Jerry Medvedekno manages 6 points and 9 boards...guh. Sasquatch 125 vs Apollos 115 John scores 38. Chris Avery with 23 and 6 assists. Medvedenko gives 16 and 10 boards... Wolfpack 95 vs Sasquatch 88 John scores 23. Medvedenko takes the night off with a wonderful 3 points, 7 boards in 25 minutes. Time to make some calls again.... |

On the phone with a couple of agents, I decide to nab a few guys that may be more productive, or at least more consistent.
Also, I chat with the GM of the Toronto Lynx and decide to make a play for their power forward. Don Fizer C 34 7'1'' 238 C+ B C B- B C Billy McMillan PG 26 6'5'' 201 C+ B- B- B+ C C The trade goes through, and I get: Stromile Hiscock PF 30 6'9'' 249 C+ B+ C+ B C+ C Stromile is averaging about 14 pts a game, and about 9 boards a game...he and Jon Conradt should add depth to the PF position. Fizer will start, he's creaky old in basketball years, but has the height to grab the boards and put some points as well. McMillan is going to be tested at SG since Jessie Peeler has busted so far, Peeler hasn't gotten many minutes, but he hasn't done much with the ones he's received. I think that if I made my offensive focus to outside, he may excel but I'm not gambling on that. So there's a little depth...gone is Dylan Barry, great potential, he could be a star, just not on my team. Also gone is Trent Unseld, a good defensive presence, but so is Pedro Bradley, I need a center with good defensive presence and point scoring. I chatted with another owner with a very skillful scoring center but he wants Walter Blood, I say no thanks. No need to make one position stronger at the loss of another, and SF are rare...especially one like Blood who is both 25 has a B potential and has a nice contract to me for 3 years. |

Week 5
Does it always rain in Seattle? Nighthawks 119 vs Sasquatch 85 We play the best team in our division. Noneotherthan, Jason Tobias' Nighthawks and oh how they thrash us. Phillip Hyatt plunks down 43 points against us. John Wolyowski hits 26 but mostly everyone else runs to a run down hotel room, and cries in the dark with a bottle of Jack. Coach Dunkly looks to be the next spokesman for Tums. Sasquatch 90 vs Huskies 83 J and J add 17 a piece. Fizer grabs 10 boards. Stromile Hiscock (what a name people) scores 10 and grabs 9. Sasquatch 110 vs Mafia 99 The Chicago Mafia is struggling, we capitalize. Wolkowyski, Blood and Hiscock are the high scorers. Center is still shaky with Fizer scoring 6 and grabbing 10. Billy McMillan is a D.O.A. who may be relegated to IR to spare him from playing anymore. Explorers 110 vs Sasquatch 100 Another division rival, and another loss, like the Nighthawks, the Explorers are a tough team, and we go down shooting, but still go down. For the first time in a rare time, actually a first time ever, Wolkowyski is held to 15 points and isn't the high scorer. That belongs to Chris Avery who hits for 21, and dished 4 assists to match his 4 turnovers...ugh. Mustangs 127 vs Sasquatch 106 We get smoked by a tough Mustangs team. The Wolkster hits 24 but Walter Blood has 28. Fizer has a middle of the road 11 points 12 boards. Sasquatch 106 vs Armadillos 99 Stromile goes medieval on the Armadillos with 31 points and 6 rebounds. John Wolyowski has 9 points, that's right. Fizer has 6 points to go with 12 boards. We are on the road but it's all bumps and detours right now. |

I decide to gamble on another free agent, this time a SF to ease Blood who has been playing without much in the way of depth.
The new guy is Renato Kieta: Renato Kieta SF 21 6'5'' 206 B+ C C+ C+ C C I like Kieta inside ability, everything else is somewhat average, but I need someone who'll bump and grind for points, and give Blood a breather. Kieta becomes my number two SF. I place McMillan on IR mercifully, he'll only get playing time if someone gets hurt. |

Ray: 8 and 12 and playing the free agent revolving door...when will this team become consistent? Hi: I like Renato Kieta, and Don Fizer is playing well.... Ray: Don Fizer is an ACL tear waiting to happen, how long will those knees last...Kieta is gonna be like McMillan, the one you left off the list hmmmmm. Kip: Your thoughts on the upcoming week...we have to go to commercial soon... Ray: They'll lose. Hi: They'll play hard... Ray: Pussyfoot round the question Hi... Hi: I'm not going to dignify that last remark... Ray: Well I'm not going to dignify that you're an as... Kip: Time for commercial Commercial: Starducks, The Coffee that Cares!!! Week 6
Hi ho, Hi ho, it's off to lose we go...maybe Nighthawks 88 vs Sasquatch 74 We lose to the division leaders again. Ronald "McDonald" House leads the N'hawks in scoring. Four guys with 8 rebounds on our team...Don Fizer grabs 15 but only scores 4, the Shawn Bradley of my generation. Renato Kieta scores 5 in 27, guh. Sasquatch 104 vs Alamos 94 The Alamos fall as Blood, Wolyowski, Avery and Hiscock are score more than 15. Kieta gets 8 points. Fizer does worse, with 4 points and 6 boards...double guh...but hey a wins a win. Sasquatch 111 vs Armadillos 104 The Texan teams seem to struggle against us, must be the weather, or our coffee. Blood and Wolyowksi with 25 and 23, Fizer makes amends with 14 points and 10 boards. Avery dishes out 10 and turns over the ball only 3 times. Oceans 110 vs Sasquatch 99 Once again we lose in our division to the Oceans. Oceans Deshawn Farber and our own Wolyowski both score 33, but their bench outdoes ours. Fizer has 4 points and 9 assists...hot, cold, hot, cold. Kieta scores 11 in relief of Blood but Blood only scores 6. Saquatch 102 vs Blues 87 We end the week on a high note beating the Blues. Wolkowyski and Hiscock lead in the points. |

3 games, 3 wins... A nice sweet run... Sasquatch 112 vs Sailers 102 The biggest news is that Sailers PG Casey Aames scores 53 on us (more than half their points)...We have six guys scores double digit points. Sasquatch 99 vs Apollos 91 Wolkowyski scores 36. Another Texas team that is having problems with us. Sasquatch 84 vs Emperors 80 Another division win, the Wolkster and Avery score 19, Hiscock grabs 14 boards and 13 points. |

Week 8 and Week 9
Huskies 106 vs Sasquatch 104 A longer game as almost everyone got playing time...Wolk and Blood with 23, Jerry Medvedenko played for 1 minute and had zeros across the board. Huskies 92 vs Sasquatch 77 The Huskies decide to rub it in. No Sasquatch gets over 17 points. Fizer rebounding has declined. Sasquatch 101 vs Americans 77 We beat one of the top east coast teams...Wolk has 27 points, Pedro Bradley in 22 minutes has zero points but 10 boards. Sasquatch 94 vs Mafia 90 Chris Avery leads in a close game. We're hurting for consistency again. Hitmen 121 vs Sasquatch 94 We get the hurt put on us in Jersey. Curt Cooper lights us up for 47 points, we move on. Alamos 120 vs Sasquatch 104 Finally the Texan connection beats us. Jonah Piatkowski dishes out 12 assists while Wolkowyski is on IR because of an injury. Please heal quickly...! Fizer scores 19 but only has 4 rebounds...guh! Sasquatch 101 vs Emperors 90 With Wolkowyski out, Jessie Peeler is supposed to step up and perform...he fails. Avery, Hiscock and Blood pick up the slack, but Peeler is being shipped out as soon as possible. Quick, Billy McMillan sighting, 4 points, 2 blocks, 3 assists, and 7 rebounds...very nice Billy but back to IR you go... Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-24-2003 at 09:49 PM. |

Kip Kasper here to report a big trade on the Sasquatch front, we have GM Qwik here on the line to talk about it and the upcoming week...Qwik, how are you, the team is at .500 with and 18 and 18 record, what's the big news?
Qwik:Thanks Kasper I listen to KJAV all the time...that Gator and the Lunatic are a laugh riot...I love last weeks show where... Kip: Pardon the interuption but you were going to report a trade? Qwik:Ah yes, We've traded Jessie Peeler SG, Jon Conradt PF/C and our 2003 2nd rounder, to the Detroit Mustangs for SG Mitchell Lucas, and PF/C Rodney Nystrom. Kip: Very cool, well you heard it hear first, the Kip Kasper show will return next week as both Hi Lowe and Ray Pezz are recuperating after that localized celebrity boxing tournament. Will try to do that one again next year, sure beat the pants off the Gator and Lunatic on that one... Last edited by Qwikshot : 01-24-2003 at 10:59 PM. |

Really it was a godsend. I needed better depth at SG, since Peeler didn't cut it. The season is still early and a change of scenery would do him good, so I felt the best time to move him was now, he did have a few good double digit games.
Detroit was ready to deal. Their GM liked Conradt, I really liked Mitchell Lucas, a young good shooting guard. I managed to get Nystrom easy, by throwing in a 2nd rounder. I felt the whole thing was fair, even if Peeler doesn't pan out, he's got a good PF/C in Conradt, and a 2nd rounder. Mitchell Lucas SG 21 6'5'' 211 B A- C+ B- C- C Rodney Nystrom PF 25 7'0'' 313 C+ C+ C B- C+ B I think unless I can grab a decent center that what I have is what I have. We'll see with this week coming up, but I'm optimistic. |

Week 10
Sasquatch 113 vs Sailers 93 With Wolkowyski back, I move him back to point. Lucas gets the nod at SG. Avery will back up both positions. I'm not disappointed as Lucas and the Wolkster hit 23 and 20. Hiscock, Fizer, Kieta and Avery all chip in. The biggest drop in production is Blood with 8 points. His minutes matched Kieta's which I think is causing the drop. Sasquatch 108 vs Americans 97 We beat the Americans again! (sorry Dave ) Wolkowyski hits 31 and has 11 assists at point. Hiscock has 11 boards and 23 points. Fizer goes cold with zero points and 8 boards. Sasquatch 105 vs Blizzard 95 Surprise Surprise that Renato Kieta pickup is paying dividends...15 points in 24 minutes playing time. Blood has 14 in 24 minutes . Wolkowyski is the leader with 27 points. Avery has more rebounds than Fizer this game...(sigh) Still at nice 3-0 run, and now were 21-18 and holding the last spot in the playoffs, WOO-HOO! |

Week 11
Sasquatch 97 vs Lynx 74 Wolkowyski led with 33 points. Avery chipped in 19. Kieta is eating into Blood's minutes but he's scoring 10 to Blood's 9. The strangest thing is Rodney Nystrom getting starter minutes with 40 and giving Hiscock only 6 minutes to do nothing. That has to change. Rattlers 96 vs Sasquatch 85 We get beat by a struggling Rattlers. Hiscock doesn't even play. We shoot 34.7%, therefore we lose. Fire 118 vs Sasquatch 102 Adrian Owens scores 48 for them. Jay Potapenko sighting with 3 boards and 7 points. Sasquatch 111 vs Griffins 89 Better, Wolkowyski scores 35. Hiscock plays well with 15 points. Kieta is getting more minutes than Blood which is a no-no. So in the end, we split, which is why I make Dunkley schedule some extra practices. |

Kip Kasper, here on KJAV, Seattle's infinite sportstalk radio. Here to report a trade between the Portland Explorers and the Seattle Sasquatch.
Ray Pezz(prominent pessimist): I tell you, he's got Larry Brown disease, nobody else has traded once!! Hi Lowe (Sasquatch public defender): It's great we get a center who scores and plays defense. And John Wolowyski is proving to be the steal of the draft. Kip: Y'know Hi, I like your verve like every one else, well, maybe not Ray, but you say that line every week. Hi: Only because he's not appreciated by the rest of the league, he has yet to get a player of the week... Okay, okay, almost every week is John Wolowyski week, who's the new guy, maybe I. Havit can shed a little light. I.Havit (Seattle Expresso's Basketball Beat Writer): Certainly Kip, Seattle has grabbed 26 year old Trent Oakley from the Explorers for Jay Potapenko. Kip: So no more Potapenko sightings? Havit: Unless you are an Explorers' fan, I would say no. Trent Oakley will lead the rotation unit along with Fizer and Medvedenko. They'll probably put Stromile Hiscock in for 2/3 of the plays at PF, giving him a breather with Nystrom. This should be a good unit... Ray: Well he's no Hunter Battie, but anything is better than Fizer...and Potapenko just sucks. Hi: Now Jay has a lot of potential, he just didn't get any playing time...why are you such a grumpy gus? Ray: Careful there Hi, or they'll be wiring that jaw shut again. Hi: Yeah well at least I wasn't in traction for a few days... Kip: Oh I need a break from you two, stay tuned after this commercial... Commerical: Don't forget on KJAV!!! The Gator and the Lunatic talk shop...on top of the space needle in a thunder storm.!!! All week we'll talk to the gang...listen to the Gator and the Lunatic...right after the Kip Kasper show. Kip: -groans- Okay we'll be taking callers. I'm altered my lineup to now include Oakley.
If anyone is reading this please feel free to add some insight, I don't know how enjoyable this is to everyone, not that it'll stop me. If anyone has insight into Fast Break Basketball or Season Ticket Basketball...does anyone know how much of a difference pace, trap, press, focus all affect the players. I know it'll make them more fatigued if I have a player double up at position (i.e. Walter Blood playing SF as a starter and getting a breather by Kieta, and then playing again. SF 1. Walter Blood 2. Renato Kieta 3. Walter Blood But will it make them more prone to injury? I'm just curious. Apologies to SplitPersonality for taking his sportstalk idea from the Diablos dynasty. I'd add more stats as well, but I still can't get things to line up nicely even after Myles nice advice on it. Thanks for reading, next update should be Monday night. |

Barring a commish veto, which I'm not anticipating...this is the
new guy.
His year to date stats:
Double digit in the points and rebounds, is always nice. He leads the league in blocking, added bonus. He's young and tall enough to play well, he's got the weight to bump people round. I'm excited, I tried hard to get Battie, but he was asking for Blood and more, and right now, that's not possible so I guess I got the shaft from him on the trade. Though I am positive some teams are circling the Sailers to grab him...hopefully out of my division. I think I'm done in trading right now. Really there is not much else I can trade. You can't trade away free agents for 60 days, and you can't trade newly acquired players for a number of days as well...this leaves John Wolkowyski (not going to be traded... I do wish he gets a player of the week, or month. He's so good, without him the team would just not do well.) Jonah Piatkowski (good backup, almost everyone has a decent PG) Pedro Bradley (if he continues to do well in what he's doing (defense and rebounds) and his potential develops his scoring, he could be the next Battie, at 22, he's still worth holding out hope for) Chris Avery (Avery is a salary cap nightmare, 8 million a year for I believe 4 years. He's not good at the point, and SG is a little crowded with Lucas. I'll keep him and see what happens in the next few years when his salary will look appealling) Walter Blood (Blood also isn't tradeable, SF as I've gleaned over rosters is a rare commodity, I wouldn't trade him unless I got a star back and a high draft pick, or two stars that were cap friendly) Malik Tobey (Tobey is a warm body, he has some value, but I only see him as a throw in to a trade. He's young and 6'9" at 225, so if his potential helps him in the scoring area, he could be lethal, but I have a feeling he'll develop after his two years are up, and he'll want no part of the Sasquatch) Everyone else on my roster is an acquired by trade, or free agent. His salary is 2 years @ 1.05 million (500,000 this year, 550,000 next year) Departing is Jay Potapenko C/PF, who has the potential to be better, but wasn't playing well enough to start right now. Portland has two other capable centers so he didn't mind making Oakley expendable. |

Okay, I split this week, I'm still a little concerned.
Oceans 100 vs Sasquatch 91 Once again I fall in my division. Wolkowyski has 19, Lucas has 17, Blood with 16, and Avery with 15 but it isn't enough. Stromile Hiscock grabs 13 boards, very nice, but only 8 points. Trent Oakley's debut leads to 6 points, 5 blocks, and 8 boards, if I can get 10 to 15 points to go with those blocks and boards, I'd be happy, but once again center may become a flawed area. Sasquatch 110 vs Gladiators 95 Back on track, but for how long...? Wolkowyski hits 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists, but also yields 5 turnovers. Avery chips in for 20. Lucas proves consistent with 15 points. Blood and Kieta are strong at SF with 14 and 10 respectively, Blood dishes 6 assists as well, very nice. Oakley is shy on the points again with 6 but is rock of defense, 5 blocks and 13 boards. Stromile also grabs 11 with 6 points. The Gladiators have 6 players score in double digits, but at the low end, that's some nice sharing of the ball. In the playoff race, we're still there, strong in the last seed. Anything can happen though...the schedule is light as well, only two games coming up against the Explorers and the Apollos, so hopefully Dunkley can get the team to gel.

The new lineup is like this:
Center 1. Trent Oakley 2. Don Fizer 3. Trent Oakley Power Forward 1. Stromile Hiscock 2. Jerry Medvedenko 3. Stromile Hiscock Shooting Forward 1. Walter Blood 2. Renato Kieta 3. Walter Blood Shooting Guard 1. Mitchell Lucas 2. Chris Avery 3. Mitchell Lucas Point Guard 1. Jon Wolkowyski 2. Jonah Piatkowski 3. Jon Wolkowyski Usually I had more players in the 3rd slot, but I've decided this is my roster as it stands, Rodney Nystrom, Pedro Bradley are players who will be used sparingly. McMillan and Tobey are on IR. |

A terrible week, and now bumped out of the playoffs...
Explorers 105 vs Sasquatch 86 Oakley is a defensive force and doing nicely at center with 9 points, 2 blocks, and 10 rebounds. Wolkowyski scored 23 and Hiscock had 15 but the scoring fell off after that...a sad terrible loss. Apollos 115 vs Sasquatch 108 Wolkowyski had 35. Oakley had 11 points and 14 rebounds. Again we lose though...Dunkly is going to have to work on the lineup again. |

The All Star lights shined brightly on Sasquatch star Jon Wolkowyski...who scored 30 points in a winning effort over the East. Renato Kieta appeared in the rookie/sophomore game and had 3 points, and two assists.
Jon Wolkowyski would win the All-Star MVP.

The bottom drops out...
Dunkly's new lineups kill us...I blame myself for encouraging him. We would lose 8 games before finally winning...here's the horror story... Swarm 109 vs Sasquatch 86 Wolkowyski fresh off his All-Star MVP performance leads with 27, the rest of the team didn't follow. Oceans 109 vs Sasquatch 105 Wolkowyski scores 38, Blood and Lucas chip in with 16 a piece, but the rest of the team is lax. The Oceans proceed to pick the team apart. Emperors 99 vs Sasquatch 81 Blood leads in this game with 21, Wolkowyski tired and probably disillusioned only scores 12 (His point total is 2nd highest this evening). Three emperors score 20 or more. Blizzard 101 vs Sasquatch 85 It gets worse, Wolkowyski leads with 19 points, the rest of team is sluggish. Kieta scores 12. The Blizzard have an easy time. Knights 99 vs Sasquatch 85 Blood scores 24, and Wolkowyski scores 19. The game was somewhat competitive but goes on the side of the Knights. Dunkly is not amused. Nighthawks 101 vs Sasquatch 80 Another date, another blowout. Phillip Hyatt terrorizes the Sasquatch with 31 points. Wolkowyski and Blood score 22 ans 15 but can't stop the bleeding. Sasquatch 102 vs Blues 99 Posted on the site as the game of the week, and for once, with new lineups in, we win. Trent Oakley blocks 7 shots, and scores 14, Hiscock grabs 12 rebounds and 11 points. Lucas leads with 27, Wolkowyski has 24. On the Blues side, it's the Chris Myers show with 32 points from the center, Shaun O'Neil chips in 24 and Kyle Price has 19 but their bench refuses to help support. Hopefully a new start after a bad patch, we're only 3 games from the final seed in the playoffs. There are still a ton of games to go. |

Trade Deadline is tonight, Sasquatch will not be an active player unless something overwhelmes them...they've already made their moves, so we'll wait and see what happens in the league...

Things get better, but run into some injuries...
Sasquatch 114 vs Explorers 110 Oakley and Avery score 21 each. Wolkowyski broke his finger and is out. Oakley gets 3 blocks as well, he may become a key player. Sasquatch 110 vs Emperors 97 Hiscock and Avery score big this time, in Wolkowyski's absence. Oakley blocks 4 shots. Sasquatch 104 vs Illusion 92 Oakley with 26, Avery with 22. This is the production we need! Oakley blocks 6 shots! Griffins 108 vs Sasquatch 97 Shawn Swift scores 43 for the Griffins. Hiscock is injured, the team does well but without Hiscock and Wolkowyski it falls valiently. Still a nice little run, and we are chasing the Sailers for the last playoff spot. Lucky for us the injuries are minimal and both guys will be back soon...

No trades at the deadline, and guess what, no one else did either...
in fact, of the 4 trades this year, three were done by the Sasquatch...go figure... a rough patch ahead..we play the first place Racers, the tenacious Knights, the Sailers for that playoff spot, the tough Apollos, and the tough Mustangs...
