Obviously losing Phillips is going to hurt.. but i'm Moving Greene to Pg.. so 6'7 point guard might create some serious matchup problems.. besides.. he's my best ball handler

Sdsu(0-1) At St. Johns(83-76)
Well, Greene And Walls are the story here.. Both Fill it up and score quite a bit.. but Sdsu Never leads in the game and falls.
St Johns doesn't seem to like our defense however.. Sdsu Had 6 blocks and forced 21 turnovers.. So i like our chances
83-76
Walls-22 points
Greene-11 Points 6 assists 5 boards

Weber State@Sdsu(1-1)(79-74)
Well, Yet another game where Sdsu doesn't lead.. until 30 seconds left in the game! Quinten Campbell was huge with
10 points 10 boards and 6 blocked shots. We may not be the most talented team.. but i certainly like the fight the kids are showing thus far..
Walls-12 points
Campbell-10 points 10 boards 6 blocks

Bucknell@Sdsu(2-1)(81-52)
This was never really a game.. as Sdsu Runs Bucknell back to wherever they came from.. Sdsu's Frenetic pace forced 41 Bucknell Turnovers.. leading to this blowout
Walls-15 points 4 boards
Greene-14 points 9 assists 6 steals

Sdsu(2-2)@#2 Illinois (77-76)
What a incredibally Heartbreaking loss this was.. lost at the buzzer on a 3 pointer.. words cannot express the disappointment i have for the effort that was put forth.. in all rights we should have won this game..
Walls-12 points
Greene-11 points

Sdsu(3-2)@ Cleveland State(75-60)
A 9 Point halftime lead evaporated for Cleveland state on 10-10 3 point shooting in the 2nd half.. as our team continues to show the heart it has all season long
Greene 16 points 6 boards 6 steals 4 assist 2 blocks
Walls 9 points

December

Sdsu(3-3)@Princeton (83-65)
This was never really a game.. as Princeton jumped out on a 15-0 run to start the game.. and sdsu never really recovers..
Jones scores 20 for us.. our guards suck in this game.. bad

Jones 20 points 11 boards 3 blocks

Stoney Brook@Sdsu(4-3)(84-62)
Almost a mirror image of last game.. except we get out to a 20-0 run to start the game.. Stoney Brook never even bothered to contend from there on out.. Greene paces us with 25 points and 6 assists

Greene 25 points 6 assists
Walls 14 points

Sdsu(4-4)@San Fransisco(68-60)
This was a Bad loss. i'm not even going to describe it.. this is a game we should win..

Recruiting News
Welcome
Maynard Allen 5-10 141 pound Point Guard outta San Fransisco.. a 4 star Recruit.. His Excellent Ball handling and Defensive skills should give us a true Point Guard for the Future

Sdsu(5-4)@Dayton(82-68)
This is what i want.. 40 minutes of pressure D.. and pulling away in the 2nd half.. which is exactly how this game goes.. Dayton really never had a chance

Walls 17 points 7 assists 2 steals

Sdsu(5-5)@West Virginia(77-53)
I don't understand why we can't beat Big Conference teams.. we are snakebite by the illinois game i gather..
Greene was the lone bright spot with 19 points.

Sdsu(6-5)@Uc Riverside(79-68)
A quality win on the road against a in state rival heh.. Greene Torchs them with 31.. Bad news however as Freshman Center Luke Porter Breaks his Skull on a Flubbed Dunk. He won't be back unless we make the tournament.. Porter was really a non factor this season..

Sdsu(6-6)@Cincinnati(69-66)
We was in this game till the end.. against a tough physical Tournament type team in Cincinnati.. again, i think if we make the tournament.. we will not go quietly..

Air Force@Sdsu(6-7)(75-64)
Air Forces Okiabu scores 41 points.. i can't counter one person scoring that many.. and we fall to the Falcons to start our conference season out on the wrong foot

Sdsu(6-8)@Colorado State(69-67)
We lose on a Buzzer beater... AGAIN.. these heartbreakers are getting too much for me to take..

On the positive side.. Recruit #2 is in place
Art Qualls 6-0 155 pound Guard outta Plano Texas.. He's a 5 star recruit and ranked #2 recruit in the Nation.. he sighted our Press Defense and up tempo offense as a place to showcase his individual Talents over the next few years

Sdsu(7-8)@New Mexico(73-67)
A quality road win in Conference, as Walls and Greene continue to bomb away.. scoring 20 and 18 respectively.. I just don't understand how this team works.. they compete in games they shouldn't ever win.. and lose in games they shouldn't..

Sdsu(7-9)@Wyoming(71-61)
Argh, I don't think i'm ever going to understand this team, they are flat for one half.. and explosive the next.. and its never the same game twice for people.. Greene was putrid.. Walls wasn't any better.. Jones kept us respectible with 21 points 11 boards and NINE blocks.

Sdsu(7-10)@Byu(73-70)
Argh.. another weird loss.. in Mormon country. We had a 3 free throws to end the game.. and we missed all 3.. yay.. Thanks Walls..

Utah@Sdsu(8-10)(78-72)
We Blitz Utah early.. forcing numerous turnovers and have a 15 point halftime edge.. and hold on to beat Utah.. Greene Resumes his Form with 26 points

Recruiting News
Welcome Stephen Blair.. a 6-5 Guard/Forward from Toronto.. a 4 Star Sniper.. he could be a dangerous wing player for us if he develops correctly

Sdsu(9-10)@Cs Sacremento(71-65)
Finally, a ugly game where we shouldnt' have won.. yet did... Jones is looking like quite the stud in the post with a dominating performance once again..
Jones scored 29 with 17 boards

Sdsu(10-10)@Utah(78-60)
We absolutely Manhandle Utah on their home floor.. They have no answer for Jones who puts up yet another double double 20-10..

Sdsu(10-11)@Byu(77-55)
No comment at all.. don't understand how Byu can tool me

Sdsu(11-11)@Air Force(103-63)
Continuing the theme of Goofy ass results.. we have us traveling to the Air Force Academy and destroying them by 40..
Green 20 points
Jones 17 points
Evans 15 points

Sdsu(15-12)@Unlv (74-70)

Quinn Buckner" Up next... The West Sub Regional with games to be played at Ucla's Pauley Pavilion"..

#4 Syracuse Vs #13 San Diego State

I see this game as a Dangerous test for Syracuse, San Diego State has won a string of games late into the season.. and is on a emotional high right now. Bobby Greene has been quite a Matchup Problem for Teams this season.. at 6'7 he's not your prototypical Point Guard. Will Sdsu be able to handle Syracuse's Zone?

Syracuse's Vaunted Zone Defense can and will shut down explosive teams.. Syracuse has a balanced attack and runs a ton of half court sets, however will their guards be able to handle the pressure trapping full court 1-3-1 that Sdsu Runs?

Vitale"I can't believe it baby, Poor Jimmy Boehiem, he's 1 and done baby"

Nessler"Greene steals the ball from Ziegler and streaks down court for a dunk.. and that should about do it folks 67-53 now.. 15 seconds left.. syracuse is conceding.. clock runs down to 0... ITS OVER.. San Diego State has scored the first upset of the tourney"

Also in the West Regional.. #12 seed Uc Santa Barbara Toppled Maryland.. Creating a Cinderella Matchup of 13 vs 12.. how do you break down this matchup?

Buckner"Well, Sdsu Played to Perfection a Full Press D with Well executed set play offense and got the shot it wanted nearly everytime down the floor.. if they do that against Uc Santa Barbara.. who plays run and gun.. they'll win this game"

At The End of the First Half..
Uc Santa Barbara 36 San Diego State 29

Buckner"Well, I really think Santa Barbara's Run and Gun offense might be too much for San Diego State, who left it all out on the court early thursday in a emotional upset of Syracuse. But i think San Diego State has one more win in them.. Bobby Greene has the look of someone who doesn't want this year to end.."

Folks.. We are breaking away from the utter slaughter that is Uconn Vs Purdue to put you on this ultra competitive Matchup..
We give you Brad Nessler/Dick Vitale with the call of Uc Santa Barbara Vs San Diego State.

Nessler:With 2 mintues to go.. San Diego has trimmed the margin to 2, i dunno where these kids are coming from with this energy.. they looked dead to the world..

Vitale:This Greene Kid is a ptp'er.. he's elevating everyone around him..

Nessler: San Diego State to Imbound.. Evans to Walls.. Greene flies off a Campbell pick.. for 3... GOOD.. San diego state has taken the lead for The FIRST TIME today.. 68-67 lead...

Vitale:Oh my goodness, are you kidding me?

Nessler: Santa Barbara is panicing..

Vitale:GET A TO BABY.. GET A..

Nessler:TURNOVER.. Walls has the ball.. and is fouled immediately with 45 seconds left.. listen to this crowd

Vitale:I'm speechless Brad..

Nessler:Thats a first.. Walls calmly cans both free throws to put sdsu up 70-67.. Uc Santa Barbara is still in this.. they need to hit a ... The inbounds pass is STOLEN BY GREENE... WITH A DUNK.. AND HE'S FOULED.. 72-67.. that about seals it for Sdsu.. they are moving on to the SWEET SIXTEEN..

Vitale:Greene cans the free throw.. 73-67.. with 20 seconds to go.. Uc races the ball of the court... takes a quick 3.. no good.. Jones rebounds for Sdsu.. its over.. Pandimonium here baby..

YESSSSSSS! If you told me before the season started.. "Hey Foz.. SDSU will be just four wins away from the national championship.." I'd do one of two things..

A) Say.. "In what, Tiddlywinks?"

B) Get the men in the white coats, cause you're obviously crazy.

BTW.. Greene and Walls.. Candidates for the SDSU Hall of Fame?

Live with Quinn Buckner.. its coach of the Cinderella San Diego State team Dan Houston

Buckner"What do you think of people not giving you any chance against Arizona Dan?"

Houston"Well Quinn, Nobody give us a shot all year.. picked to finish last in our own conference.. we rose up to conquer the Mnt West Tournament to get our berth here.. then faced what everyone believed a Impossible challenge in Syracuse, who many thought was a legit final four team.. and well you saw what we did to their chances"

Buckner"So your saying you think you can beat Arizona?"

Houston"Well, quinn there is a reason you play the games, because on any given day.. any number of things can happen. Is Arizona Better then us on paper.. i'l give them that.. any sane person would. But i'd fight tooth and nail with anyone who said our heart was lesser then any team out there..

Buckner"Thanks coach, good luck on Friday"

First Half From Tucson Arizona(Note.. WTF.. why not schedule this game in iraq.. might have been a more friendly crowd)

Nessler:Arizona Looks Confused.. San Diego State is running a Perimeter offense spread.. They can't seem to mesh defensively and Greene is picking them apart with passes for easy post scores

Vitale:Unbelieveable.. Lute Olsen looks dumbfounded..

Nessler:So Dumbfounded he let his starting pf foul out in the first half(Note:This has to be a bug of some kind)

Nessler:Greene Leds Sdsu into the half shocking up 16 on arizona.. Surely Lute will come up with a answer for this Turtle Shell Offense Coach Houston is running.

Vitale:This is pure genius from Coach Houston Brad, Win or lose.. he's putting his kids in situations where they can suceed if they execute.

HALFTIME SCORE- San Diego State 51 Arizona 35

2nd Half(3 minutes to go... Score is 70-69 Sdsu)

Vitale:Here it comes Brad, Zona Athletisism is just too much for San Diego State today..

Nessler: Walls to Inbound.. swings to campbell.. back over to Baylo... Greenes man falls down.. Greene is open for three... GOOD 73-69 Sdsu

Vitale:On second thought.. Ballinger dribbles down fast for Zona.. stops Pops.. GOOD 73-71 Sdsu

Nessler:Wow, this game is seesaw now.. 2 minutes to go.. Greene with a NICE backdoor cut pass to Silva for the DUNK.. AND he's FOULED.. wow.. what a move.. 75-71 sdsu

Vitaleipsey do Dunkaroo!

Nessler:Silva with the ft.. its good.. 76-71 sdsu.. Still 2 minutes left for Arizona.. no time for panic yet.. Ballinger calls for hte ball in the post.. spins.. shoots.. Count it.. 76-73 Sdsu.. 1:45 to go

Vitale:Ballingers so strong inside..

Nessler:Greene dribbling around.. trying to set up a play... Walls streaks to the basket.. ALLEY OOP.. oh my goodness.. how did he shake his man.. 78-73 Sdsu

Vitale:Unbelieveable baby.. simply unbelievable

Nessler:Arizona looks flustered for the 2nd time today.. Emanuel.. TURNS THE BALL OVER.. Jones Streaks to the basket.. for the easy layup.. 80-73 Sdsu (1 minute left)

Vitale:Oh he shoulda dunked that! perhaps he was nervous

Nessler:Regardless.. Zona is in full on panic mode now.. Emanuel takes a mid range jumper.. GOOD 80-75 Sdsu.. Arizona has to foul now.. and does..

6 straight Greene made freethrows later..

Vitale:UPSET CITY BABY.. ZONA IS OUT.. on their own home floor!
86-75 win for San Diego State.. they are Elite eight bound.. are you kidding me?

Quinn Buckner: We're here with Bobby Greene, who will lead the San Diego Aztecs out onto the floor at Olsen Court in Tucson for tonight's West Region final against the Boston College Eagles... Bobby.. it's been a dream tournament for the Aztecs.. what do you attribute it to...

Greene: We're a team that's firing on all cylinders right now. The players are going out there, knowing that if we play our game, we can beat anyone. Coach Houston had us real nervous before the Arizona game.. but right before he led us out, he just smiled and said.. "Guys.. 40 minutes is not a very long time. Go out and have fun" He calls the plays, we just try to keep up.

Buckner: BC's a sixth seed, and normally, would be a huge Cindarella story, but seemingly out of nowhere, here comes this team that not many people heard of. First Syracuse, then UCal Santa Barbara, and THEN Arizona. What do you think are your chances..

Greene: Well, BC's a good team.. you have to be a good team to get this far.. but I think we have a good chance. Coach Houston says it's more about how we do then how good they are. I'm just glad to play in a game this late in the year.

Buckner: Let's send it back to Jim and Dean in the studios!

Jim Nantz: So, BC was 22nd in the nation entering the NCAA tournament, and got what many believed was a rough ride here, as they had to travel out west, but after going 20-9 in the regular season, they are one of three teams from the Big East remaining in the Elite Eight. Dean, what do you think?

Dean Smith: BC's a team that has two main guns, with two players scoring 28 a game between them, and the rest can be heros on a nightly basis. They're solid fundamentally, and just as important, they've played a tough conference schedule. The Big East is the Big Gun this year.. and this will serve them in good stead. I expect Wahhab Bayless to be the key for them.

Jim Nantz: And they will be taking on San Diego St, who has been the certified glass slipper team. Entering the tournament 20-12, champions of the Mountain West Conference, and having beaten three very good teams to get to this point. What's going to be their keys for victory, Dean?

Dean Smith: If San Diego St is going to make it to the Final Four, it's going to start on the outside. Greene and Walls have to go huge.. they've been absolutely deadly on the outside. The Aztecs keys are good shooting, good ball control, fighting for the defensive board.. and most importantly, to survive the first five minutes. Although after the Arizona game, they probably think they can handle it, but a regional final is something else. The first five minutes will decide it.

Jim Nantz: That will be our prime-time match up tonight.. after this break, we'll send you out to your games.. you're watching the NCAA Tournament.. on CBS.

Cbs at the Half.. Bc 42 Sdsu 39

Nantz:What a Incredible half of basketball, Coach Houston has his kids believing anything is possible.. is the final four really within their grasp? are we really seeing this?

Billy Packer:Well jim, I think they can do it if Greene Continues to Play like he has. Greene Needs help from some where though.. Its going to have to be Walls.. Evans or Jones..

Dean Smith:I've always been of the mindset that if you can get your kids to believe in themselves, anything is possible.. and right now the team with that belief is trailing.. i'd lookout if i was Boston College..

2nd half.. 1:30 minute to go.. score 73-72 Sdsu

Nessler:We always end up in this situation with sdsu.. every game so far, and i'm really starting to think this gives the edge to sdsu.. they've seen the same situation over and over.. i think they can do it.

Vitale:Exactly Brad, they are so calm under pressure, its unnerving almost..

Nessler:Greene who has had another monster performance with 25.. dribbles up court.. Bc defense in 2-3 zone.... This might not be a wise choice of defenses

Vitale:Are you kidding me? they need to be man to man.. at least on Greene

Nessler:Greene on the dribble drive.... GOOD.. and he's fouled.. 75-72 Sdsu.. wow.. simply.. wow

Vitale:Greene Is Tournament Mvp in my book right now.. no matter if Sdsu wins another game or not.. where would sdsu be without him..

Nessler:Greene puts up the Free Throw... good 76-72 just over a minute left.. Bayless whose also had a strong game takes the ball up court himself quickly.. takes a ill advised shot.. not a good decision again by BC.. who has seemingly folded under late game heroics from Sdsu..

Vitale:Porter Skies for the rebound for sdsu.. Turns and throws a quick outlet to Walls who is immediately fouled

Nessler:well, Walls cans at least 1 this game is basically all but over..

Nessler:First one is up.... and GOOD.. the crowd seemingly is behind SDSU now

Nessler: Second one.... GOOD.. 78-72.. with 15 seconds left.. thats basically gonna do it... Bc Scrambles up court.. quick 3.. in and out.. Evans with the rebound and is fouled..

Vitale:ITS PANDAMONIUM ON THE SDSU BENCH.. UNBELIEVABLE

Nessler:Evans can barely contain his excitement going to the line.. His first ft is up.. and GOOD 79-72

Vitale:Aztecs are going to the final four baby

Nessler:Second free throw up.. AND GOOD 80-72, Bc elects to just let rest of clock run down... ITS OVER....

unbelievable baby! I'm pretty proud my boys (Greene, Silva, and Walls) are playing top notch. Anybody want to redshirt them for a year so I can have them on my team?

Yeah, didn't think so...

Final Four.. Kemper Arena (Kansas City, Mo)

Michigan State Vs Sdsu

First Half
Michigan State looks to physically punish Sdsu and does so early with brusing dunks and elbows.... Greene is fouled hard a few times.. and seemingly takes Greene off his game..

Half time Score 40-33 Msu

Second Half
Sdsu hits 2 quick 3's to pull within 1, But sadly thats as close as it ever gets as Msu pulls away with physical play.. and a dominant double team down on Greene.. who never gets going and scores 6 points..

Final 80-66 Msu

Sdsu's Cinderella story is over... for now, But we'll be back. oh yes.. we will be back
