It's the Angry Video Game Nerd
Hello old friends. Familiar faces. Ogres, rectal Trout, Curmudgeons, and sweet sweet lovers of patriotic underwear.
I've recently been binging on AVGN episodes (linkerdoodle), and have to say that it reminds me of you slightly damp blankets. Has anyone else gone down this rabbit hole? If so, what are your thoughts? XOXO, Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggaaohyougettheidea

I'm familiar with the channel. I'm neither super pro nor hyper con either way.
It's a niche, I get the gimmick, it's interesting to see what he digs up over half the time. Not, however, a channel I ever bothered to subscribe to. I catch it via a stray recommendation or when my kid points something out (or goes on a binge with the channel on a slow night when he's here at home).

Interesting take. Thanks.
Now that I have a daughter, I can't say it's a show that I am willing to watch when she's around. The extremeness of the vulgar humor isn't something I'm a fan of; with that said, in terms of establishing a brand, he has done a great job of staking a claim in a previously unexplored area.

I prefer Jim Sterling, he does the Jimquisitions and Jimpressions videos. Just couldn't get into the Angry Video Nerd for some reason but latched onto Jim instead. He can get foul mouthed, but, it's mostly aimed at the stuff that video game publishers try to pull on consumers. His presentation is a 'character' and I can see where that may turn people off from him, but, it doesn't bother me as it's more like a WWF character, which I find funny.

His stint as an indy wrestling manager was pure gold.

I used to be addicted to the channel, mainly because of one of the early episodes where he ripped apart the Back to the Future NES game, as that's my favorite movie and a game that deserves to be shredded. Some of his character antics can be annoying, but I still find the channel amusing from time to time. His episodes on Superman 64 and Big Rigs are especially hilarious.

I've seen bits of that and what I saw, he really got into it. Always mean to go back and find more but I usually end up getting distracted by another video.

That's what was actually so cool about it to me I think, it was something he really wanted to do ... and he got to do it. That's kinda what we're all shooting for in life ain't it?

So very true. It's a rare moment when you are able too and definitely enjoy it for all you can as you never know when it will end.
