Magnum PI - reboot
I'll watch it for old times sake but tbh, not too hopeful that it'll capture my interest like in the past.

The original had such a great blend of personal drama mixed with quirky humor. Going to be hard to replicate that, especially without Tom Selleck.
Wish they would have changed the name and changed the situation up a little bit. |

NO f-ing way!
I hate hollywood that show had such an amazing cast....you cannot replicate an emsemble like that. then again they'll just fill it with dumb uber jokes and crap... Jonathan hillerman cannot be replicated! |

Nice to see the dobermans chasing him again though, very nice touch
I don't see this lasting very long but the trailer appears to be making a reasonable attempt at doing it some sort of justice at least.

Have to say I'm not a big fan of these revivals. Rather see new shows than revisiting Memory Lane. But seems like all the networks are going there now-Just today I've seen news about revivals of Murphy Brown and Charmed.

Oh god, watched the trailer and I think it's even worse than I anticipated. The idea isn't bad, but don't try making it Magnum PI because it's so not.

I do like how they kept Zeus & Apollo. Replacing Higgins with a female actress will be tricky but I actually like that twist. BTW - so is Higgins the Robin Masters or not? I vote not. Last edited by Edward64 : 05-19-2018 at 07:06 AM. |

I've now watched a couple episodes. I do think it is somewhat true to the orig Magnum in its story lines but I'm not feeling the love.
Its may be me where I've outgrown it and/or what worked in the 80's don't really work today. And to be fair, there were some orig Magnum episodes that were just kinda eh also. It won't be on my must-see-TV but I'll watch it if there is nothing else going on ... (I do hope it gets better, more engaging). |

There can be no Magnum without a mustache.
