For Sunday night they compared both, which was down 9% from last week and 11% from last year.

And for all the other ones they did year over year. Some were up, some were down, and the Sunday night game had a season premier and series premier up against it.

In other words, nothing out of the trends we've been seeing for a while now, like last year where NFL viewing was down 7% and all sports viewing has dropped.

Well tonight my beloved Cardinals play, so I'm sure ratings will be way up

I'm SHOCKED that a shareblue article contained a click-baity misleading headline.

I'm a regular reader of /r/politics, and it infuriates me that shareblue isn't blacklisted, even though politically I'm typically on the same side.

I missed most of the protests yesterday. Were they all as awkward as the one the Cowboys and Cardinals just put on?

Cowboys break new ground by vague-testing before the anthem. I have absolutely no idea what purpose that was supposed to serve. This is just comedy now.

Yes. Ridiculous as it served zero purpose other than for Jerry Jones to check the box that his Cowboys “did something”

Well at the very least, it showed that the Cowboys were with players who took a knee to protest (as in supportive of their right to do so), even if they were not going to do it themselves.

Seems like they were vaguely trying to play both sides, but also: make sure to do it better than anybody else. Jerry Jones, y'all.

There really is no way a team can win in this situation, but I thought the Cards/Cowboys handled it well. These actions don't need to be mutually exclusive.

You're probably right there. That said, I'm a cynical bastard and the more elaborate these exercises get, and the more 'managed' they become, the less earnest they feel. None of these billionaire owners/organizations thought either side of these issues were worth even the tiniest sliver of their time two weeks ago, but now they're seemingly trying to one-up each other in publicly displaying their dedication to something/anything/everything.

I'm just enjoying the Cards offense moving up and down the field at will against the Dallas defense. Hopefully they won't miss any more chip shot FG. Also, what's wrong with the Dallas OL?

I know it's all setting up for me to be disappointed in a different way than recent years, but the NFC East is looking winnable for the Redskins this year and I didn't think that until this weekend.

What's wrong with Dallas, indeed. This Cards team wasn't exactly looking like world-beaters through the first two weeks either.

Yes yes that was the good Carson Palmer from 2 years ago at the start, followed by the ineptitude that's been the norm of late.

well glad that game is over if for no other reason to not hear John Gruden go on and on about whatever Cowboy just made a play is the greatest Cowboy ever. He sure has his favorites, and is not shy about praising them.

Geez, these snowflakes are getting offended by everything nowadays. Guess they need trigger warnings before sporting events now.

Fire chief ‘embarrassed’ for calling Steelers coach Mike Tomlin the n-word over anthem protest - The Washington Post

In shocking news, one of the people offended by the protests is an ignorant, racist white guy who looks exactly like you might imagine he would.

Though yes, the play call where Fitzgerald was tackled inbounds was bad, and the Over/Under being 46.5 is an awkward visual.

He was overselling it a bit but that was still some bad end of game coaching. Then again, that is par for the course for the most overrated coach in the league.

But he criticized his own actions in a statement to WTAE, saying: "I am embarrassed at this. I want to apologize. I was frustrated and angry at the Steelers not standing for the Anthem. My FD had absolutely nothing to do with this. I am deeply regretful at what I posted."

He forgot the part about this having nothing to do with race.

TV Ratings: Cowboys Win Gives ‘Monday Night Football’ A Season High | Deadline

So either the game was good or else Goodell is going to start encouraging players to protest the anthem to boost ratings.
