All I can say is dominance.

The Wayback Machine definitely made me pay more attention to the Aussie Open than usual. Was hoping Venus would find a way to win and retire on the spot.

I think Serena turned down the engines on this one, tbh. Lots of mistakes I don't think she'd normally make. Venus did comport herself well, but I just think if she wanted to, she'd have beaten her 2 and 1 and been done with it, but she didn't want to embarrass her big sister.

I'm not sure how badly Venus' team wanted it for her, either. It might not have mattered, because Serena is that good, but...would've been nice to see Venus deny Serena 23 and get what was probably going to be her last Grand Slam title.

Though, if she can play this well all year...maybe she has a chance at Roland Garros.

Venus doesn't have the career grand slam, she's never won in Oz or France, so it'd have been nice to see her get this one and have a remote chance at it. But if she has another year in her, perhaps it's still in the distant offing.

Heck of a match between Nadal and Federer, I caught the last set and a half. The fifth was a fine example of most of what has made each of them great. How Roger can pull off some of the shots he does at 35 I'll never comprehend.

Shame someone had to lose that Nadal-Fed match.

Does the tennis world lose their collective minds over Stan Warinka's grunts in the same way they do over Maria Sharapova's grunts?

No, mostly because Stan's aren't nearly as loud or shrieky.

This Konta-Halep quarterfinal is really entertaining. Halep makes a great villain and is really good.

Belated, but that insane ending in the Nadal loss was crazy. The Isner 70-68 match a few years ago makes me wonder how long they'd really go with a 5th set or at what point they'd finally do something about them going on forever. Has to screw up the draw.

Konta wins 6-4 in the third. Halep might not have made it out of there alive if she had beaten the first serious English woman threat to win Wimbledon since the 90's/

Nothing could possibly be scarier than a bunch of middle class English housewives and schoolteachers eating 30 dollar strawberries and sipping lemonade. She must have been terrified, poor thing.

Federer is a great role model. Wish all great athletes acted like he does. Nadal is classy as well. Makes it hard to root against any of the top 4 really. Murray has his moments but has come around and acts professional most of the time.

Yes, 2009. 8 years in any Grand Slam. That's sad. Querrey's road probably ends here, because Murray could barely move in the last set.

And Djokivic makes three-pulls out mid-game against Berdych with obvious shoulder pain. Federer appears healthy and won first two sets vs Raonic, but in danger of losing third set

and Federer comes through after being down 6-5 in the third to win the set 7-6 and move on to the semis.

Venus Williams in a Wimbledon final is quite a feat. I think she's got a favorable matchup too with how she's been playing. Would be fantastic to see her get another title after a 9 year drought, especially at her age.

It's phenomenal. I hope one day we'll be able to look back and really appreciate how special the Williams sisters have been.

And a 35-year-old Federer has won 18 sets and lost 0.

Muguruza gets her 2nd grand slam this time over Venus. Good for her, women's tennis is really in a strange period right now and it's good for her to show that French Open wasn't a fluke title. And again Venus no slouch getting to a 2nd grand slam final at her age.

Congrats to Roger on the pretty lopsided win.
