I think you could put Graf ahead of Navratilova from a tennis standpoint.

The question was for females, not for women

Babe Didrikson Zaharias - The only complete no brainer. All American in basketball. Two gold medals and a silver medal in the Olympics. And finished up by becoming a hall-of-famer in golf. If they had heptathlon in the Olympics during her time, she would have dominated that for years.
Jackie Joyner Kersey - Legend in the heptathlon and long jump, and was also a very good basketball player in college. Serena Williams - Probably the most dominant single sport athlete of all the women, and arguably men as well. Lottie Dod - My curveball. A lot of people will write her off since she competed around the turn of the century. But she's a 5 time Wimbledon winner, she won the British Amateur Championship in golf, she was on the UK national field hockey team, and also a silver medal winner in the Olympics in archery. She was also a highly regarded figure skater. ETA: I think Fanny deserves legit consideration as well. Who knows how many medals she could have won if not for WW2. She, Mia Hamm, and Wilma Rudolph were on my list as well, but didn't make the top 4. Last edited by Umbrella : 05-01-2017 at 11:11 AM. |
