Don't Panic but...
There's no power in Washington DC!
D.C. hit by power outage - CNN.com Kinda ridiculous that they are covering it at all given that they know its come from a power substation that exploded, and thus not arson or terrorism. They certainly would not be reporting it on the news if it happened here. Hope none of our FOFC'ers from that area were/are affected. But be sure to give us a minute by minute breakdown of what happened if you did! |

Everyone knows that the top 1 percent has all the power anyways.

Maybe the FBI goaded someone into blowing up the substation and is now going to do a perp walk once they've solved the case.

This is newsworthy because it happened in a city where a lot of the media members live and work.

Yeah, here it would be huge news too. Then again PG&E is under ridiculous scrutiny always since San Bruno, regardless of the cause or culpability.

Oh the irony.
Usually DC is where the lights are on but nobody's home.

I had so many messages about this... apparently there were buildings around mine that were out, but not mine.

Have to say it kinda makes me shake my head that our govt buildings would be affected by this especially the White House.

On a related (but not really) note, I woke up in my hotel room to a series of loud "pops" last week and the room was pitch black...2 in the morning...was that gunfire? Within about 15 seconds I converted to John McClain and was fully dressed 2 minutes later. I went down the hallway only with emergency lighting and my cellphone and headed down the stairwell (6 floors) to investigate...the terrorists had successfully cut power to the elevators (clever), but I knew they would never know to check the stairwell, which would serve me well as a makeshift vertical ventilation shaft. Made it outside and circled back to the front of the building and hung out with the night desk clerk...a security guard...and some old dude who's ventilator machine thingy cut off and woke him up...I think the terrorists knew this outfit was going to be too tough to beat and split quit.

Amazing. The sad truth is this will never get the attention it deserves because of the upcoming Bruce Jenner interview. Kudos to you, sir!
