Help with webpage links

I running Win98 with IE6, this just started happening a few days ago on my laptop. When i click on a website link, whether it's on a forum like this, or in an email (outlook express). A new browser window opens, but there is no address in the address bar and nothing loads. Not even an error page. It's just a blank page, it's almost like that newly opened browser window locks up or something. I can't think of anything i downloaded that might have screwed something up and i haven't changed any settings. Any ideas?

Thanks

Todd

Are you fully patched? If so, try the following:

1) Run AdAware.
2) Clear your browser cache and history and cookies.
3) Rename your IE program folder Internet Explorer.old. Then re-install IE.
4) If none of that works, download Firebird 0.7 and use that instead.

Yeah - SpyBot Search and Destroy is great.

Try also looking at your settings for Temporary Internet Files and clicking on View Objects... makes ure everything that gets listed looks kosher.

Also - under Internet Options>>Advanced settings, make sure "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" is checked.
