The always dreaded Preference draft

As I move forward to opening the USFL to owners everywhere I'm very concerned over some of the posts regarding preference drafts and their inevitably disappointing results. What is the concensus on this? Is the preference draft leading to terrible results? Is a live draft really a possibility (even post patch) because from what Ive read the inability to pause may lead to a problem? Can we do a live draft for 20 rounds and then automate the rest? Skydog?

even tho i'm not in a league as of now, I would say that doing a live draft for X amount of rounds then automating the rest would prob be the best way to go. that way, each player hand picks their stars and lets the computer pick the scrubs (which would happen with a preference draft anyways).

Also,

Anyone interested in joining the USFL which will be heavily dedicated league please visit the website below, take a look at the teams, and then post your note and preferred team on the post on the multiplayer matching log. Look for the USFL stake.

Where have there been complaints about the preference draft? I must have missed this...

From what we've tested in the FOFL, the preference draft doesn't not work well at all for multiplayer. I never had problems with it in single player so I don't know what's up.

Jeez what can you do then. If the preference draft isnt very good and a full draft is a logistical nightmare then what can a commish do? The preference draft seems like the only option here so I hope Jim takes a look at this if it is something that needs to be addressed.
