Frozen Four (spoilers)

Anyone watching this? It's been a very entertaining game so far. Go Union! (always cheering for the underdogs when I don't have a horse in the race)

Was thinking about getting tickets for this when I heard it was on Philly but then of course I forgot...

Union up 4-3 at the second intermission. The keeper made one hell of a save to maintain that lead a few minutes back.

Union hurt themselves early in the period when it looked like they were just trying to hang on to what was a 2 goal lead at the start of the second. Looks like they had an "oh sh*t" moment when Minnesota got to within a goal and went back to trying to attack.

Nice goal by Union to go up 5-3. Nice redirected pass, even better setup of the play.

Union up 5-3 with 11:00 to go and about to go on the power play as Minnesota has taken a few really bad penalties in this one.

Great save by the Minnesota keeper... make that two as I type this... to keep it a 2 goal game as the power play is almost over.

8:03 left and Minnesota gets a too many men penalty, no reason for that... it wasn't even close and quite obvious.

4:35 left and Minnesota will go on the power play as the Union player loses his mind with a late hit after the whistle. Just stake away.

Goal Minnesota! 5-4 with 3:40 left. Thought they were going to have one about 15 seconds earlier but I need to see a replay to see how they didn't score on that first one.

Should have been a call on Union there but what impressed me was the Minnesota player. He gets tripped, leg on leg, and while he is on one skate and falling he had composure to play the puck and make a pass between the skates of another defender to his team-mate.

Union scores with 1:22 left after a great defensive play down the other end. They are up 6-4 with 1:22 left and closing in on their first title.

That was a great defensive play. Seems like you see that a lot; great defensive play leads to a rush and a goal.

Empty net goal and that pretty much wraps it up (barring a miracle of all miracles).

Again it was after a nice defensive play to keep Minnesota from gaining the zone.

Wonder how much of a pain in the @ss it is to clean that confetti off the ice? Flyers play tomorrow afternoon.

Interesting recent shift in college hockey.

Back-to-back first time winners (Yale last year). First time that has happened since 1988-9. College hockey has been dominated by a handful of teams over the years: NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also, back-to-back winners from ECAC, a conference that has been pretty weak in the last few decades (most recent winner prior to last year was Harvard in 1989).

College hockey has had some pretty massive realignment lately (many dominoes related to the Big Ten starting their own hockey conference). I don't follow college hockey enough to know if it relates.
