Any Interest In Playoff Fantasy Football?

Scoring, Rosters & League Size to be determined later? But how many would be willing to throw down $25 to play? Would ove to get about 8-10.

In if the draft time works out. Were you thinking of doing it on the board with intervals or live online somewhere?

Depends on if espn or yahoo or whatever offers it online. A board draft probably wouldn't be that hard if we started the Monday after the regular season.

A waiver wire? Maybe the playoff league I usually play in is highly unusual but with no bench and no waivers the strategy is all in the draft and drafting players on wild card teams that you think will play multple games vs. gambling on a team with a bye (Manning as the first pick with his playoff history etc) who will play at most three games. With 8 teams this seems like somebody would have Jamal Charles and then if the Chiefs lose go pick up another running back. I'm not neccesarly out (and the money is not an issue at all) but the strategy seems to be completely different. Is this normal?

I honestly have no idea, I've never done one of these before. I can eliminate the waiver wire and bench if that's the norm and what people prefer.

Edit: I guess my initial thought was that, say you have McCoy or Murray and they get eliminated in round 1, you could pick someone up, but since 16 RB's at minimum have already been picked, there isn't much left but table scraps.

I have no idea either. I like the no waiver wire because there is a lot more emphasis on the draft and predicting who is going to make the Super Bowl but like I said maybe the league I play in is unusual. My league also scores by hand so maybe that is part of the issue of somebody picking up Baltimores fullback before the Super Bowl. Like I said money isn't the issue and I will play either and just come up with a different strategy I guess lets hear from the other guys.

It also eliminates what I consider "dick" moves that others might consider strategy. Such as stockpiling qbs, def, or kickers where another team might not even be able to one on their roster. Like I said some consider that part of the nuances of the game where I just see it as a loophole.

OK, switched the settings to no bench, no waiver wire.

1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 Flex
1 TE
1 K
1 DE

...with only 8 managers, it might be pretty workable to expand the skill position rosters a bit more. I have played something similar among friends, and we basically went 7 deep at the RB/WR/TE slots, without completely scraping the bottom of the barrel. it's actually fairly interesting to sort out whether you want the #4 WR from a team that look loaded for a deep run, as opposed to the #1 WR from a team that seems like an easy one-and-out. And so on.

I don't much care, I'll play anyway, but you could edit the # of flex positions to something like 3-4 and I suspect we'd go a little deeper and maybe have longer lasting intrigue.

I'd be in favor of adding a couple more flex spots. Adds to the strategy in a contest like this.

Bumped flex spots up to 3. Just one other thing, I knocked the pass TD down to 3 points from the default 4 when I set up the league, everyone ok with that or would you prefer it at 4 or higher?

Ok, concerning the draft. 88 picks in 5 days shouldn't be hard but it is a bad week. So I'm thinking 2 hour time limits starting Monday at 9am est and going straight through to midnight. We can even start as soon as the Sunday night game ends untimed. Untimed Tuesday and Wednesday and then back on the clock Thursday and Friday. Hopefully we can breeze through without it getting too tight. I'll be available pretty much all week so lists and instructions are encouraged if you're going to be unavailable for any long stretch.

I'm thinking yes but I can't be positive until I start entering players.

Draft order is as follows,
1=1 digamma
5=2 Panerd
2=3 Quicksand
6=4 Subby
3=5 TLK
8=6 Suicane
4=7 kurtism
7=8 CleBrownsfan

I ran the RNG before I asked for numbers, as seen in the first post in this old thread,
2011 Football Betting Thread - Front Office Football Central

So we're good to go. I believe everyone has my paypal address.

Draft will run 9am to midnight est on Monday, Thursday & Friday, 2 Hour time limits. Untimed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I'll be here fairly constantly so any lists or instructions can be sent to me. Remember to PM your draft buddy when you pick.

I'll start a thread Sunday evening for the draft.

Whats crazy about this football season is that who I am considering for the #2 overall pick (pretty much figure Manning will go #1) may not even make the playoffs.
