Todd Christensen - We Hardly Knew Ye...

Todd Christensen, All-Pro tight end, dies at 57 | ProFootballTalk

Great player, far too young to die.

He was great. I was never a Raiders fan or ever really had too much of a routing interest for or against the Raiders, but when I was a kid and watched the Raiders play I distinctly remember Todd Christensen being almost unstoppable and always busting huge plays.

I got into football - and the Raiders - around '83. He was one of my first favorites. Very sad to see. :/

Sad blow for Cougar nation, Todd went downhill rapidly after contracting Liver disease. He was a great family man and very respected in the community and yes, the best perm in sports.

RIP

You know, it probably says something about me that my first thought on seeing this was that we have lost the greatest Tecmo Bowl TE ever.

I used to love opponents trying to guess if I was going Bo or Marcus Allen and then going long bomb to Christensen.

RIP Tecmo Todd.

Wow, this hits hard. I really liked him as a player. I always thought he was extremely underrated.

Always loved his voice and was disappointed he didn't commentate longer. Great player too, just read his Wiki and didn't realize how long it took him to find his groove or that he played fullback his first year in Dallas.

I was a Raider fan in my childhood years. He was a great player. Back before the passing era really set in, he seemed to always lead the league in receptions.

Another piece of my youth gone.
