Anyone still playing this. I just got back into it again after playing some Magic with the real cards. If anyone still plays look me up next time my id is roy1826. If anyone is looking to move their online or actual cards let me know.

I have a bunch of magic cards from about 6-8 years ago when I tried to get into it. Any chance they are worth anything?

Probably some of them are depending on the wear and tear. Pickup a copy of SCRYE magazine to see what they are worth.

The current issue of Scryce on the stands, #65, has an article in it on Magic by me!

I'm on the Five Color Council and we choose what cards to restrict, ban, etc for the format. So I wrote an article on 5c in the midst of a group of Magic articles about different casual formats.

I played Magic Online a lot during the demo. But there was no way I was going to pay $3 a pack to play.

If you want to play casually, then you certainly don't have to adhere to any banning or restrictions just like your decks can be of any size and you don't have to draw seven cards and so forth. All rules you can toss.

But, if you play in tournaments with a format that has banned and restricted cards, then it is a good thing for the format. Cards that become completely abusive are the ones that action is taken against. Makes the game more fun, not less.

Really? Everyone I know who had the cards that got banned and restricted didn't think it became more fun. I tried staying interested, but finally gave up during the Ice Ages release. Casual play with banned or restricted cards became boring when everybody else with those cards stopped playing. It isn't much fun playing when you know you will win (alright, maybe a little fun, but boring).

The value of most of those cards has only gone up, so Ithey would have been easy to trade away if you didn't want to play with them. Again though, as long as you were not playting tournaments, the B&R list never touches you or your play table.
