Lightbulb Track an actual AP voter

Chuck Cooperstein, a local in my area is one of the 72 actual voters in the AP poll. Unlike most he will put his voting out to the public. I thought it would be interesting to track how his voting goes through the season. So here is his from last Monday:

1. Ohio State
One of these days Will Allen isn't going to have to make a game saving play. I just don't know when.

2. Oklahoma
Wow! That's all the Sooners need: A way to be dominant in special teams. Yikes, I said the same thing in a thread this week

3. Miami (FL)
Their offense is spotty, but their ability to score off their defense and special teams is the best in the country.

4. Southern California
Just sitting and waiting.

5. Florida State
All that stands between them and the latest Holy War with Miami is a scrimmage with Duke. The defense has allowed a total of 108 yards, in the second half the last two games against Georgia Tech and Colorado.

6. Tennessee
A Hail Mary turned the game at Florida. Their dominant offensive line then went out and won it.

7. LSU
Maybe there is still some Magic in Death Valley. A gut check win over a very good Georgia team despite being outplayed most of the way.

8. Virginia Tech
Don't look now, but Kevin Jones is warming up for a Heisman run.

9. Georgia
No shame in losing THAT game at LSU. A concern is that some key people (Greene, Gibson, and Pollack) are all banged up.

10. Arkansas
Hogs avoid the letdown in the sandwich game between Texas and Alabama. Their passing game may be ugly, but George Wilson had a 100 yard receiving day against North Texas.

11. Oregon
12. Iowa
13. Michigan
14. Texas
15. Nebraska
16. TCU
17. N. Illinois
18. Bowling Green
19. Toledo
20. Pittsburgh
21. Kansas State
22. Louisville
23. Purdue
24. Wake Forest
25. UNLV

Maybe he should have noted that UNLV lost to Kansas...yes the Kansas that lost to my school, Northwestern, the Kansas that played Wyoming tough (not too many D-I schools can say that, and its not flattering for Kansas). I can think of many teams more deserving than the Runnin' Rebs for that 25th place vote.

Especially with the skill position injuries they have had, Jeeber. Plus, the defense has not lived up to billing, so far.

1. Ohio State
Bucks have two weeks before their first road tilt, conference or otherwise, at dangerous Wisconsin.

2. Oklahoma
Another week to fine tune before Texas. Iowa State is this week's victim.

3. Miami (FL)
Normally a trip to Morgantown might strike some fear prior to a Holy War with Florida State. Not this time. Canes need more from Brock Berlin.

4. Florida State
With all due respect to Ohio State and OU, the Seminoles may have the nation's best defense. No team has managed 300 yards against them or has scored more than one offensive TD.

5. Tennessee
Nothing is going to come easy for these Vols. But WR James Banks, the converted QB, has become the man who scores the big TD. A tricky game at Auburn is next.

6. LSU
Given the schedule. The Tigers may represent the SEC's best shot at the Sugar Bowl. Should be another 40+ point game against woeful Mississippi State this week.

7. Virginia Tech
Hokies are nicely rounding into form.

8. Arkansas
The Hogs may have their doubters, but rallying from 21 down at Tuscaloosa reduces their number.

9. Georgia
Needed the off week to get people healthy. The LSU game took a tremendous toll. Alabama between the hedges this week.

10. Southern Cal
They played valiantly on the road against fired up Cal before losing in triple OT. They're still very good. They need to find a way to get the ball to Mike Williams more than they do.

1. Ohio State
Nightime madness at that Camp Randall madhouse will be the Bucks biggest test to date. Good time for Craig Krenzel to make it back from his elbow injury.

2. Oklahoma
The Sooners have hit the Texas game hitting on all eights. They have gotten better every week.

3. Miami (FL)
Gut check time for the 'Canes. They haven't seemed very interested in playing save for the fourth quarter against Florida. They had better get intereseted in a hurry or else Florida State will blow them back to Miami.

4. Florida State
There shouldn't be any wide rights for Bobby Bowden to worry about this week. He just has to make sure Chris Rix plays within himself.

5. LSU
What figured to be a tough game with Florida this week may be nothing more than feeding some red meat to a bunch of hungry Tigers.

6. Virginia Tech
Solid. Very Solid. What's not to like? A Heisman caliber RB, an incredibly efficient QB, big fast receivers, a hungry defense, and the greatest special teams on the planet.

7. Georgia
Dawgs have their walking wounded back just in time. The SEC East rep at the championship game will be decided on Saturday at Tennessee.

8. Arkansas
Stat of the week: Auburn is 5-2 in their last seven games againmst Top Ten teams including their win over Tennessee. The Hogs should be on red alert, especially after their 31-7 drubbing of the Tigers on the Plains last year.

9. USC
Trojans played the first half against Arizona Strate with a Cal hangover before getting it together.

10. Texas
Longhorns laid it all on the line against K-State. I know it's Oklahoma, but do they have anything left in the tank? Whatever is left, Mack Borwn and Greg Davis need to empty it against the Sooners.

1. Oklahoma
They know they own the Longhorns. Now it's up to them to prove that they own the Big 12 and the nation.

2. Miami (FL)
As good as the win was over Florida State, they still had five turnovers, and they still had only one offensive touchdown. But what they lack in offense, they more than make up for with a gigantic heart. That will have to suffice until they get things straightened out.

3. Virginia Tech
Blasting Syracuse is a good sign that the Hokies have their mind on the matter at hand. Has Bryan Randall made a mistake this year?

4. Georgia
When they're healthy, they're a bear. Tennessee discovered that, and so will the rest of the SEC.

5. Southern Cal
What is Pete Carroll thinking about trying to move a guy who should be a senior in High School into the starting lineup at QB. Fortunately, the Wild Bunch 2 has awakened from its six quarter slumber, and could possibly cover up such a stupid thought.

6. Washington State
Stanford comes up not a moment too soon for Bill Doba. Maybe that will keep star LB Will Derting away from the pulsating Pullman nightlife.

7. Ohio State
You live by the close game, you die by the close game. An Ohio native, Lee Evans, did them in.

8. Northern Illinois
Why not? The wins over Maryland and Alabama are going to carry them a long way this year. And as the weather gets worse in the Midwest, it will only mean that Michael Turner gets more work, and more wins for the Huskies.

9. Michigan State
I know about John L's offense, but do you see the way they're taking apart people on defense. The next four weeks will tell: Roadies at Minnesota, Ohio State, and Wisconsin and a home date with Michigan.

10. Iowa
Chandler can throw. Russell can run, Garcia can return like a demon, and Sanders hits anything that moves. Those guys will have to be all that headed to the Horseshoe. Did they pick the wrong week to draw Ohio State?

1. Oklahoma
After being held to 34 by Missouri, the Sooners ought to hit that 50 train again this week against a Colorado team that has allowed 42+ points five straight weeks.

2. Miami (FL)
Two weeks to get prepared for the knockdown dragout with Virginia Tech.

3. Virginia Tech
I don't care if they have to go to Morgantown for their Wednesday nighter with West Virginia. The Mounties near miss against Miami is all the motivation Beamer's boys need.

4. Georgia
They sleepwalked their way by Vandy. Now they need the No-Doz to get by UAB before their holy war with the Gators.

5. Southern Cal
Matt Leinart has passed for over 900 yards and 9 touchdiwns the last three weeks. LenDale White and Reggie Bush have given them big time speed at RB. And, oh yes, the Wild Bunch 2 is in top form.

6. Washington State
They're thinking about USC in two weeks but first there is schitzo Oregon State. The Beavers were awful against Washington, but dangerous enough that the Cougars better pay attention.

7. Ohio State
Only Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, and SMU have worse offenses than the bumbling Bucks. They do it with magic, defense, and special teams.

8. Northern Illinois
A MAC showdown game with Bowling Green on the road. Michael Turner has hit full burner.

9. Michigan State
John L. Smith was considered a no-gooder when it was annoucned he was leaving Louisville for Michigan State during the Cardinals playing in the GMAC Bowl last year. Maybe those Spartan folk knew what they were doing; making sure they got their guy before someone else thought about it.

10. Florida State
Stuck in no-man's land. A comfortable ACC lead and a trip to the Orange Bowl in all likelihood, but with the way they're playing of late, not much chance to do more than that.

I actually disagree with NI, TCU and M.State being as high as they are.

He had Ohio State as #1 with the defending champ is #1 till they lose premise and dropped them to 7th. I cant really argue with that.

Since HFP is off saving the Californians I'll post this for him. I'm just upset that I didn't think to post last week's poll...

1. Oklahoma
Hey, Les Miles. You were told.

2. Southern Cal
Right now, the Trojans look like the only team in the nation that could stay within two touchdowns of the Sooners.

3. Ohio State
Sure, they're lucky. But lucky is always better than good.

4. Florida State
Papa Bowden needs a win over Clemson to keep the Seminoles national title hopes alive. In the process, he may be sending son Tommy to the unemployment line.

5. LSU
Tigers are lurking.

6. Virginia Tech
Now those were the real Hokies against Miami. Let's see how they stand their own prosperity with Pittsburgh this week.

7. Miami
'Canes have been walking the fine line. Tennessee has been walking the fine line too, and provide the opposition this week.

8. TCU
Nothing short of the biggest game in 65 years on Wednesday night against Louisville.

9. Michigan
How did this team lose two games this season? They dominated a good Michigan State team in East Lansing.

10. Georgia
You dominate the run game, you should win. Georgia did that against Florida and still lost for the 13th time in 14 tries. Two weeks to get ready for Auburn in a season saving game.
