Hi Im new here. I just bought fbcb and was wondering if I have to download the patches or are they already in there..........Also if anybody could give me some hints or tips to improve my exp......(with this game thx................like how hard to put the game on or anything like that.......................thks

I believe HR keeps the full download in line with the current patch, so you shouldn't need to download patches until the next one is released.

Edit: You should also check out the FBCB site and forum.

there's also a link floating around here someplace to a dll file that will fix the injury problems in the latest version (until the official patch comes out).

Yeah, there's a posting on FBCB's board for that. The file is Random.dll.

The version # is shown in the title bar. The most recent is 1.03. If that is the case then you don't have to download the patches. I believe the most recent patches are in the download.

Like the others mentioned, the full download usually includes the latest patch. The one thing you'll probably want to download is the Random.dll file that was mentioned as well. You can get it here:

Hints:
*When you first start playing always set your coach level to 15.

*Once players start committing in November you may be able to find some good players still available that don't have a scholarship offer yet. These players may have slipped under the radar of better schools. On the recruiting screen you can tell if a school has offered a scholarhship by whether or not there is a * next to their name.

*If you are reasonably sure you'll be able to reach the goal the AD has set for you, there isn't much risk in asking for extra funds. Any negative effect of this would be cancelled out by reaching the goal.

Since HR is here - I thought I'd add a suggestion or two. I just bought the game and have enjoyed it a bunch. Is it possible to have the "Add Coach" information saved (or default to the previous entry). Since I'm experimenting a bunch, it is kind of a pain to re-enter all of the info each time. Also, is it possible to have the recruiting screen sticky so that I don't have to select "Qualifiers Only" and "Call List" each time I go there (after the first month, of course). Otherwise, it has been a ton of fun so far.

They will usually give you a warning about not meeting the goal and then they might fire you. I just got fired, however another team gave me a chance.

Both of those things should be possible.

Generally you should have a few years to accomplish the goal but it will depend how close you come to reaching the goal.

Except at Purdue, which I left LA Tech with after recruiting the 13th best class and had all freshman and sophomores. So I go on to try and rebuild Purdue and I got fired after two years, they were mad because I asked for more time.

LA Tech went on to win 20 games in each of the last 2 years.

I made it less likely for the teams to fire you in the early years in the next patch. Each school has a different level of patience and some of them were being too impatient when you are first hired.

I don't think it wasn't realistic, its just sucked. Sucks even worse after watching LA Tech win 30 games two years in a row.

I did manage to win the Conference Tourney with High Point two years in a row so things are looking up.
