I saw an albino squirrel today

I was driving to Best Buy down a residental road that was half forest, half houses when I saw this white thing run out into the road. It got to the other side by the time I got to it and it was sitting at the base of a tree. That thing was weird looking. I never saw an albino squirrel before. I didn't even know they existed.

Just thought everyone should know that.

I've seen a picture of one, but never one in person. A definite double take inducing sight I bet.

Yeah, it really was. I keep telling myself to bring my camera with me everywhere so I can get pictures of some of the semi-weird things I see. I think not being able to get a picture of an albino squirrel will now convince me to start taking it everywhere.

I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels and they were married.

Georgia Tech has a large family of squirrels, including the albino squirrel which is the "godfather", as it were. I've seen him from afar, and once, about two in the morning walking back across campus, came face to face. He stared me down for a good few minutes... after which I realized that there were about a half-dozen squirrels in the parking lot along with the two of us. Needless to say, I left.

Not kidding.

Don't mess with the albino squirrel.

This squirrel wasnt albino by default.
There's a town 15 miles from where I live that is famous for white squirrels. Theirs are not albino as the squirrels have regular colored eyes, not red.

90% of the squirrels in Kenton, Tennessee are white.

Funny, but I've never seen one within 5 miles of that town either. They don't migrate away from the town for some reason.

FWIW

princeton, nj has black squirrels, while all of the surrounding area has the typical grey/brown squirrels.
