The Three Star System (2012) - NCAA Tournament Game

1. Choose any three (3) players in the NCAA tournament.
2. You get points from each player's points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and steals. You will lose a point for every turnover that player makes. You also get points if that player's team scores an upset based on the seeding differential.

So say for example you pick a player from a 12 seed team and they upset a 5 seed. You not only get the points, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals totals (minus any turnovers) for that player, but you get another 7 points for the seed differential.

So say 12 seed Guy has 10 points, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, a steal, 3 blocks, and 4 turnovers.

10 (points) + 2 (assists) + 5 (rebounds) + 1 (steals) + 3 (blocks) = 21 - 4 (turnovers) = 17 +7 (Upset seed differential) = 24.

Your final total for that player for that game is 24 points.

3. First Four games do NOT count.
4. This is not a draft, so select whatever three players you want.

Deadline is before the first game on Thursday.

I just wanted to see someone have game that recorded something besides points and another game that added in a Cinderella intrigue factor.

Do your players get points taken away for negative seed differential?

What's really sad is, at least one of my classes is kicking FOFC's ass comparatiavely. Out of 6 entries in the one class, two of them have the same group as Marmel, and a third one broke the 100 point barrier with 106 (Green, Robinson, Sullinger).

Will have to see how the other section is doing when I tabulate their results.

Hmm. I may need to give a multiplier for upset seeding the next time I run this. The 13 bonus points one of my students got for picking McCollum of Lehigh for the upset of Duke doesn't seem quite enough maybe, although he did have 53 total points to top Green's 47 point worth triple double.

BTW, that student partway through my tabulating the scores is now beating everyone with 119 points.
