Ok, so the file is up. In theory, the 1st half won't be until Wednesday. If everyone exports before that, we could do it sooner but no pressure. HTML going online here before too long.

In the next off season, is it possible to replace the Short Season Single A league with a Single A league? I have many players that aren't ready for Double A, but they won't get much playing team below Double A because there's only Short Season Single A. Also, I have players in Short Season Single A that are ready for Single A and I am worried they won't develop very well with no Single A to go to.
Just something I thought I would ask. |

Either change short-A to A (OK option) or add an A league (preferred option).

Ok, so the file is up with every team being given an A-ball team. I relegated SS-A to Rookie ball as a result but mostly because it makes it easier to distinguish between levels in abbreviations. But you can download that file and make your requisite changes as needed.

Wow, leading the league despite:
1) Losing 8 in a row to Milwaukee before finally beating them, and 2) Playing 53 on the road and only 33 at home. I guess we'll have a home field advantage in the 2nd half. Then again we're .604 on the road and only .545 at home. Not complaining, but draft order is based on current standings rather than last year's standings? That's the only way Chicago could be line for the 11th pick.

I added rounds to the draft. It's back to 15. That might have made it think we were starting from scratch. In any case, I'll fix the draft order. Thanks for the heads up. Hell of a 1st half by the Hornets though.

23 saves, 1.79 ERA, 0.74 WHIP, .157 OAvg! Voters are whacked!

MID-SEASON AWARDS THAT NO ONE CARES ABOUT
AL MVP
Derek Campbell, Memphis If someone is having a better first half than the heart and soul of the Smokers lineup, I'd like you to point him out. Campbell leads the AL in average (tied with Henry Jones for the majors lead) and while LA's Andy Baker is on pace to be the first place in the modern age to hit 60+ home runs, Campbell is tops in RBI and 2nd in homers too. All while leading the league's best 1st half squad. No slouch that guy. NL MVP The NL 1st-half MVP is a bit more mysterious as it could be a split between Chicago's Steven Chowen or Milwaukee's Henry Jones, but I'd give the edge to Chowen right now with his team in 1st place and as the defending rookie of the year, he's got a lot of pressure on him to perform. So far, he's doing that, leading the NL in HRs (26), RBI (73) and WAR (5.4) AL POY The best pitcher in the Associated League is probably playing somewhere in New York state. Whether he's on the rotation of the Americans or whether he's playing in Syracuse is another matter. Despite his team's inability to rise through the ranks and pedestrian record, Jonathon Redick is an ace of the first order, with a 9-7 record and an ERA at 2.32 despite that. It's another legacy player -- New York's Ramesh Chandar who I'd give the nod to as the top hurler in the AL so far this year. He's got 12 wins -- tops in the league -- and is 2nd in ERA and just 4 strikeouts behind Redick for the league league. So goes Chandar, so goes to the A's chances at their first post-season appearance in five years. NL POY Bobby Foster is steering the Hornets potential playoff hopes with his arm. He's also got 12 wins, leads the majors in strikeouts, WAR and is 2nd in ERA. As for top rookies, in the NL that has to be Milwaukee's Jones. He's lapping the competition, though Sugar Mosley in Shizuoka is the only bright spot that team has and he's got 21 steals already this year. He'll be a solid guy. In the AL, it's likely Skippy Kaufman for Los Angeles, a catcher in the Piazza mold who is bringing his A game night in and night out. Which is what you'd expect from a legacy player. |

It's September and all of a sudden, we have a pennant race for the AL Wild Card. Meanwhile, the Kings have overtaken the Hornets who led most of the year and Milwaukee lurks not too far behind.

So the defending champion Smokers look for the repeat while New York, Carolina and Chicago all gun for their first-ever pennants, much less Series titles!

Congratulations to Los Angeles' Andy Baker and New York's Jim McLean, who recorded the first 50+ season HRs since the ill-fated 1842 campaign. Baker ended the year with 54, McLean with 53. The AL record was set by Syracuse's Quincy de Vaal that year with 67 and it's a wonder if it'll ever be broken. But they remain #2 and #3 on the single-season HR list.

Faded a bit in the second half but still won 90 games and made the playoffs. Goal was 87 wins.
Now lets see what we can do in the post season.

New desktop arrives tomorrow, so it means I can run sims from home again. Which I'm pleased with. Postseason exports are in, so we're gonna run the post-season now. To maintain the suspense and since there are no postings during the series anyway, I'll just turn the spoilers on-in game and let you discover the victory when you download the file.

File is up now including awards, but the spoiler tag is off so if you want to "relive" the series from scratch, just avoid the standings tab.
Congrats to our champions. Free agency begins Wednesday night. |
