Black Friday Deals 2011

Some of the deals are already starting to go live. Walmart had the PS3 bundle for $200 go live today and already out of stock. Saw a Blu-ray Wifi player for $50 at Best Buy.

Probably a long shot, but any indication that iPads may be on sale at any point before Christmas? I'm getting close to pulling the trigger, I think.

I've heard rumors, but I think they were mostly assumptions inferred from the fire/nook price points. Who knows with Apple.

Best Buy has an early online deal for today only, a 37 inch LCD TV for $239. Just picked one up for one of my guest rooms.

That's a pretty sweet deal. They had a 40 inch LCD TV last week for $350. I am very tempted to pull the trigger and get one for my office, but Lady H_B opposes the purchase and given that I've watched Tv in my office all of about... zero times in the last 2 years, it's hard to argue.

I mainly just want to get it so I can bring it downstairs when friends come over and we can hook up the two Xboxes I have and play co-op games.

Most of the Black Friday stores have both in-store and online deals available on Friday. You just have to sort through them to determine which are available online/in-store.

Damn Good Beef Jerky is 50% off on Friday with free shipping on orders over $50: http://damngoodjerky.com/

Teriyaki isn't bad. Black Pepper is pretty good. Stay away from the garlic. It's horrible.

Looking for the good deal on big screen TV. Appreciate input from anyone knowledgeable.

Want a TV (LCD, Plasma?) that I can hang up over the fireplace. I have a 42 and 40 inch so thinking 50+ inch. I think 1080p instead of 720p.

Black Friday question, as I am a little out of touch on these things:

My kids (7 and 5) are set on getting an Xbox w/ Kinect from Santa.

Walmart has Xbox + Kinect + game + $50 gift card for $199.
Toys R Us has Xbox + Kinect + game + $10 gift card for $199

I know Xbox is still popular, but is it one of the THE must have items this year? Knowing how Black Friday works, do I need to be there 8 hours ahead of time camping out and beat old ladies in order to get my hands on one of the 3 packages in the store?

Toys R Us opens at 9p tonight, my first plan is stop there. Walmart opens at 10p, and is about 3 minutes from TRU, should I strike out on stop one.

All else fails, Amazon has the same package online starting at midnight.

We are getting a new TV from a deal currently active on Walmart.com

Samsung 43" Plasma 720p

My dad is WAY into reviewing everything he buys through Consumer Reports, and this TV got the "coveted" CR best buy with a normal list price of $650. Sale is $398 with free shipping.

Walmart.com: Samsung 43" Class Plasma 720p 600Hz HDTV, PN43D430: TV & Video

Amazon Wireless AmazonWireless: Cell Phones and Plans offering all phones for a penny with a new line of service. Is this too good to be true? What's the catch? I've tried finding one, but I haven't seen one. I feel like I must be missing something.

There's the catch. 2 year overpriced contract makes up the difference everytime on the cost of a phone.

That's the thing. The contract is the same price as the one you'd get through the carrier. Unless I'm missing something.

Not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but I'm looking to begin a new contract with a new carrier so I think I'd apply for this. I went through the process and was able to select the plan I'd get if I was going with Sprint through their website. Just getting the feeling that this is too good to be true, and you know what they say about that.

It's a legit deal. I've done it before. You just have to watch the terms(generally no cancellation for x months. No change made to plan)

Did you do it through Amazon Wireless? I've never gotten a phone not at a carrier's store, so I guess I'm a little nervous about that aspect. Does it not really even matter?

Yeah, did it thru amazon. Didn't port a number, though. You can always port your# to Google Voice if you need to keep it. You just want to review all of the terms and conditions. If, say, your sprint service sucks, you're stuck with it. Or amazon can bill you for a fee if you cancel. None of these are big deals, but you just need to be aware.

When you renew your contract, do you have to do it through amazon or can you do it at a carrier's store?
