Winged Lingerines Bennett Tames Toronto
Monday, September 16th, 2137: "It was just one of those games, when everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Roger Bennett said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."

The Ann Arbor Winged Lingerines pitcher really got it done in his 7-0 shutout victory over the Toronto Marlboros, shutting them down on 2 hits. Bennett issued no walks and had 6 strikeouts.

This year Bennett has posted a record of 8 wins and 6 losses with a 4.90 ERA. He has appeared in 29 games and struck out 138 in 169 innings.

Suárez Garners RL #1 Pitcher Award
Tuesday, October 1st, 2137: Upon hearing the news that he had won the Republic League Pitcher of the Month honors for September's work, Toronto reliever Carlos Suárez merely smiled.

"That's just the kind of guy he is, and that's what makes him so good out there," his manager told reporters. "The guy has ice water in his veins. Nothing short of a League Championship could get this guy excited and I'm not so sure that'd do it either."

Suárez made 13 relief appearances burning through 22 innings as he racked up 1 save, 24 strikeouts and held batters to a .176 average as he notched a 4-0 record and a 0.41 ERA.

For the year Suárez has made 78 relief appearances and claimed 2 saves. His record is 7-6 with 100 strikeouts in 108.2 innings and a 3.31 ERA.

September's #1 Starter Named in CL

Tuesday, October 1st, 2137: In September, when the name of Lane Robinson appeared on the Napa Valley lineup card it was a virtual lock on a victory. He started 5 times and chalked up 5 wins and no losses. With those stats it was a also a virtual lock that he would be named the Continental League Pitcher of the Month.

Robinson shackled opposing batters on 42 base hits and a .266 batting average. He rang up 26 strikeouts in 41 innings of work, surrendered 6 walks and fashioned a sparkling 2.85 ERA.

This season Robinson has crafted a 17-7 mark with a 3.46 ERA in 208.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .267 against him and he has 132 strikeouts.
