Can Anyone Help Me Out?
For some reason, everytime I try to start up my PC at home, it leads me straight to a user login screen instead of the desktop. Then, when I try clicking on a user ID (there's only one that has ever been used) it starts making noise and says "Loading Personal Settings..." and then reverts back to the log in screen. I can't figure out what is the matter and thought maybe someone here may have heard of a similar problem.
It's frustrating because normally I am on the PC and the internet for a good 5-6 hours a day and now for the past couple days I have not been able even use the PC. I'd appreciate any help, I can check in here at FOFC from campus and check in periodically. Thanks in advance. Neuq

It doesn't sound like you can get to the security screen. I'd try to boot from a diskette. It will also depend on what OS you are using. 98 for instance doesn't take security too seriously. You can just make up a new username and password, and get in for instance.
