Face Off Hockey

Face Off Hockey from .400 is going to be released October 3rd. I completely forgot about this game with EHM. It's $34.95, and since I know I'll be grabbing EHM (unless some unforseen event occurs), I doubt I'll be buying it.

Face Off Hockey release announced

No career play is a killer, IMO.

I won't buy a hockey game without career mode, either.

I don't plan on purchasing this, either, although I understand that career mode will be in next year's version, FWIW.

FaceOff has traditionally been a replay based games over the years. Following the split, the FaceOff team was brought aboard late into the development cycle of the game. So this version of the replay game is being released as the traditional replay game(as is the board game version). The current version of FaceOff does track career stats and you can update your league each season with the new player ratings.

Traditional Career Play is being added into the next version of FaceOff.

One thing off the top of my head, milking the EA Sports player ratings job to the hilt, years after the job was completed. A second thing - the programmer of Black Ice Hockey (vaporware hockey sim) quit Black Ice Hockey to join the team at FaceOff hockey.

No, and it looked incredible, hence being one of the all-time vaporware products. That being said, I wonder how much was actually completed, and how much of it was just mock-ups.

I tired the demo last night and between the unfriendly interface and constant error messages, I was not impressed

I was a regular one that MB< but I stayed away from the flame stuff. When I first started work on my tennis sim, I made the announcement there...and was then mocked for making a tennis sim...

Following the true spirit of the board game will not result in my buying of the product...and has for updating the player ratings myself and whatnot....why should i? Hell the free version of EHM does this already, and you want me to pay for a sim that doesnt inculde this most basic career mode?

Very very poorly thought strategy on this one. you'll be seeing none of my money.
