Fantasy Football 2010 discussion:Who should I Draft/Play
We just drew for drafting slots in my league. I'm picking 6th. Stuck between going with a back or possibly someone like Drew Brees/Peyton Manning/Aaron Rodgers. QB's tend to score a lot of points in our league. 12 teams. I figure we could use this thread to talk about drafting/waivers and all the assorted.
At 6 I see Johnson/Petersen gone for sure, probably Jones Drew/Rice as well. Obviously I'd love Rice but that won't happen. |

I think Rodgers is a reach in the top 10 even, how crazy is the scoring for qbs?

I love Rodgers as it seems everyone does this season. It just seems unless this is a very unusual league that really is scoring differently then I wouldnt take him yet.

maybe its just me. but my list probably goes something like this
1. Peterson 2. Johnson 3. Rice 4. MJD 5. Gore 6. Brees 7. Andre Johnson 8. Fitzgerald 9. Steven Jackson 10. Rodgers/Manning/Brady/Turner/Mendenhall or your choice here. Jackson might even get bumped up above fitz or even AJ, not sure I'd have to think some more. I know his team is awful, but what he did last year with a slightly worse team was pretty amazing, I see no reason why he can't repeat but he should hit the endzone 8-10 times this year instead of the 4 last year which held him back fantasy wise.

yes, picking 6th I like Brees there, or depending if anyone falls or not.

I think JerMichael Finley could have a 75/1100/10td type season. I don't think he is an unknown but I expect a breakout.

I'm also passing on Fitz unless that QB situation improves.

As far as first overall Id take AP. He had a off year last year and still ended up with 18 tds I believe. He can only get better while Id like to believe CJ has topped out. Teams will be keying on him this year.

Who was playing QB and WR in Tennessee last season? I think they were already keying on him...but the number of touches last season obviously should be cause for concern. |

Well the guy that's usually the commish for our fantasy leagues got a little too excited for the upcoming season so we've already had our draft.
Here's how the 1st round played out: 1. AP 2. Chris Johnson 3. Maurice Jones-Drew 4. Ray Rice 5. Michael Turner 6. Frank Gore 7. Aaron Rodgers 8. Rashard Mendenhall 9. Andre Johnson 10. Ryan Matthews 11. Steven Jackson 12. DeAngelo Williams Rice, Matthews, and Williams were auto-picks. Here's my team: QB: Brees, Eli Manning RB: Moreno, Forte, Ben Tate, Hightower WR: Andre Johnson, Driver, Malcom Floyd, Bowe, Breaston TE: Shiancoe, Gresham K: Bironas Def: Dallas IDP: Orakpo, Morrison

I'm in need of another playmaker and trying to go after Ray Rice. Right now Fitzgerald is my go to guy but I'm not sold on him with the whole QB situation in AZ.
I'm looking for some feedback on Bernard Berrian. I'm thinking about offering a package with Berrian, but with S. Rice out, Harvin and his migraines, Berrian might be the go to guy for Favre this season. Think he's worth holding on to and hoping for some magic? Or just go ahead and try to package him for Rice? EDIT: If my buddy isn't willing to deal Rice, he also has CJ Spiller who I would try to grab in a Berrian deal, as well. Last edited by JS19 : 09-02-2010 at 12:23 PM. |

Berrian is overrated right now due to Rice and Harvin being out. Deal him if you can. I don't think he will be a factor anyway when it comes fantasy playoff time. If you can get Rice, get him.

The number one reason I don't join leagues where the draft is 6 weeks before the regular season.

McCluster is listed as a WR by ESPN. Seems like a good pick up.
