The 2013 FOOL-X Classic is set!

We have a rematch from last year when Havana beat Spring. The Lions are in the Classic for their third straight season and won it all 2 years ago themselves.

Crap. I almost pulled T. Hernandez from the rotation for poor regular season performance but I obviously didn't.

Big congratulations to the Classic participants. Good luck.

Sweet! Almost blew that one at the end.

Sorry to slip out with that one again, Tasan.

This year's success is less luck and more quality than last year, but I also think I am far less likely to reproduce this particular success in the future, so I'll take it where I can get it.

Congrats to the other playoff teams, and good luck to all this offseason.

Hey Alan,

I might be way wrong in my thinking but Miguel Esparza was signed right out of the draft to a major league contract. However, that contract is up and I had assumed he'd be arby eligible but instead he's an outright free agent. I thought even if they had ML contracts after that initial time is up they'd go to arbitration because of the 6 year rule. I could be way wrong like I said just looking for some clarification.

It's 3 years for arbitration, 5 years for Free Agency, 6 years for Minor league free agency in our league.

So should he be a free agent? He's only been in the league for 4 1/2 years.....

Yeah, he was in the majors for at least 172 days for 5 seasons, so qualifies as 5 years of service time, so is a legit free agent.

This is actually easier to track in FOOL than other leagues because we don't have call ups and call downs mid-season, so pretty much if someone plays 5 years in the majors, they're a free agent.

Yeah you know when I typed that I kept thinking to myself that he was drafted in the middle of the year but then realized that we draft differently here then say my solo league or another league I am in.....Oh well Thanks for your explanations as always Alan!
