Yup, it kills me when I do that. In the past month or so, I did this very thing on a spring training/draft sim, and on, even worse, a regular season sim. Very painful because Alan had to resort to AI both times, and of course, both times, the AI made dumb, oddball decisions that cost me down the line.

At least the first free agent sim, while missing it hurts what you can do with preparing your team for the season, you can swing that and maybe still get the needed free agents and what not.

Just a note, I don't force AI to do anything for Spring training sims unless the sim just can't continue. Usually you can play out your spring even with smaller lineups if need be and I won't touch it.

Only in the cases where the sim stops and I can't continue will I have to do anything in the spring training sim if someone misses an export.

Yeah, that's mostly an issue only with me, with how I have my organization set up during the first free agency period.

Of course, even if you have enough players to play your spring training games, it still hurts to miss that export, with the last pre-regular season chance at free agents and the draft being in that one.
