Someone please call up the Splendid Splinter so my hero can begin his assault on the record books!
I think he has proven that he is ready.

I brought him up for spring training this past season, but didn't think I wanted him in the majors yet. He struggled in the spring and his important ratings had not matured enough to come up. Since it is possible to wreck him for good with too early of a call up, I wanted to give him more time to mature. I am definitely monitoring his progress this offseason and will once again look at him this spring to see how it looks. I eagerly await him joining my outfield, but I want him to become a legend and not a colossal flop |

I'm considering offering owner bribes to induce people to make trades, just FYI.

Bad night for me to not have time to get an export in. Was hoping to get some folks into Spring training to try some stuff out.
Oh well, time for experimental season lineups! |

Another owner just dropped out of this league, I strongly believe this should be the last season and that we ought to take off until the fall and then decide whether we want to keep going or whether it's really done. I don't want to end it, but...everyone is busy and I think we're all sort of on autopilot (including me) with this, trudging and hope it'll get better sooner than later.
I don't think it's dead forever or even dead as a concept, I just think for right now...it might be best to do it this. Because between the lack of owners now, I think it'll just get worse as the weather gets better and people spend less time monitoring these things. I'm open to a dialogue on this, I'm not legislating the door shut by fiat...it's just apparent to me that this thing needs quite a few things to be vibrant once again and so, rather than try to jam it together...seems like some time off and a return back might be just what the doctor ordered to get everyone refreshed again. Thoughts? Season will go on as usual after midnight central, of course.

I think it's ok to take a few weeks off at the least. Honestly I have had trouble getting into historical but I have way to much respect for all of you that I had to keep going.

Just out of curiosity was there a problem with my export?
I see it was imported, but looks like AI overwrote it? As for the other questions, I'm ok with what ever. I enjoy this even with less real coaches and more AI.. but most important is the toll it takes on you. if you need a break then thats fine. |

if we need a break thats ok with me, i really want this to keep going though. so with the remaining owners, can we go to 11 to try to get some new owners in?

Well moving up to 11 would be a good starting place, but honestly I just feel like I should be giving this league more energy and that's going to get even harder in a few weeks since my summer is packed.
I'm thinking that a few months off and a relaunch at the end of the summer would be good for the league and everyone in it, too. Like I said, I don't so much consider it ending things...just a hiatus. As for the file, OOTP10 crashes constantly for me at even the most mundane tasks and so, if a team is over it's roster limit the only way I could get the sim to advance was to have the AI reset all rosters. Because the game literally wouldn't work for me otherwise. I'll be glad to get out of X, because 11 is just a more stable game anyway and I think it'll make it way easier to find new members that way.

Just a FYI, I was talking with Dark Cloud earlier and one thing I don't want to lose is those members of the FOOL community that currently are Historical simmers only. For people who have fallen in love with the FOOL format, I do have one or two available teams in FOOL-X right now which is planning on upgrading to OOTP11 soon it appears. (I don't have anything currently available in FOOL which runs on OOTPX, but if interested in that please let me know and I might be able to work something out. )
If we do end up taking a summer break for FOOL-H, we'd love to see you guys stick around and try out some of the fictional FOOL leagues which in many ways are just as fun as this one! |

I've had lots of trouble keeping up, but I think a hiatus and then a return with OOTP11 in the Fall would be great.

That's what I'm thinking. I mean, if you all would rather have me just release the file I can do that...but I figure it's not that the concept isn't fun, it's just a lot of pace right now for a lot of us and it just seems like it'd be good for the league, good for future recruiting and all that if we took time off.
I've been on the boards for a decade, so it's not like I'm leaving per se, but...the summer will be busy for me and I wasn't sure even if we didn't do this that I'd be able to keep up. So it's not goodbye, think of it as FOOL Summer Break. You know, like school, only different.
