Google Experiments

So the other day, I noticed that my Google Search pages had randomly changed (posted below). After searching to see if Google did some major redesign I had not heard about, I discovered that it's likely the result of some Google experimental trial I was randomly selected for. Has anyone ever had this happen? Does anyone know if you can opt out? I really don't like the new design.

Have you tried clearing your cookies?

They're probably doing some sort of A/B test, so if you clear your cookies you should get back in the A pool.
