Christmas Songs that you hate

I hate the song "wonderful Christmas time" by I think Paul McCartney. It is so douchy I almost shut down in anger everytime it plays.

Also cannot stand "Blue Christmas" by Elvis or any version of "jingle bell rock".

Feliz Navidad has got to be the single most idiotic christmas song out there.

Not a big fan of the McCartney tune either. Don't mind Blue Christmas, and Jingle Bell Rock gives me a chuckle from the edited version, "later we'll have some [bleep]-ing pie" (thanks, Don & Mike).

In the spirit of the thread, the Beach Boys would like to remind us that Christmas comes this time each year.

I like most Christmas songs -- I think Christmas Wrapping is a great song.

I don't mind the George Michael song, but lord, that video. I'm glad I wasn't a teenager during the 80s. Also, how was I ever surprised when George Michael came out?

My wife has this irrational dislike of the Marilyn Monroe version of "Santa Baby". To be fair, it's kindof a crappy song. But her and her mom both make these awful faces when its played over the holidays.

Long hours working at McDonalds during the holidays as a teenager has left me with a lifelong hatred of most christmas music. There are three good xmas songs - Band Aid, Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and for some reason A Spaceman Came Travelling by Chris DeBurgh. Anything else just puts me into a crappy mood. Bah humbug.

My two favorite are easily Band Aid's "Do They Know it's Christmas" and Greg Lake's "Father Christmas", and "O Holy Night" when it's done right.

The ones I can't stand...as some have mentioned...Elvis' "Blue Christmas", McCartney's song, "Grandma got run over", and some others here and there.

The Band Aid song should die a painful death alongside the McCartney one and the Lennon one and the Christmas shoes one.

I can tolerate "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" but only barely.

I like a lot of Christmas songs, but these are just hideous.

Do you guys get tortured with "Last Christmas" by Wham in the US ?

Over here it´s played multiple times a day on every fucking channel every freaking year around christmas (starting in late november) since it´s been written in the 1980s. If not the original than one of the million stupid cover versions. Memo : You can´t make this song sound good, quit trying ! It´s like one of the plagues ...

seriously, look how damn long the wiki page is and it´s more annoying and everpresent than moscitos in the summer : Last Christmas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

edit : @ stevew : Burn !!! (couldn´t see videos at work)

Did MM ever record a record (I know there's the Happy Birthday clip, but beyond that...)? You might be thinking of the Eartha Kitt version. Which my wife very much dislikes as well.

I enjoy "The Night Santa Went Crazy" by Weird Al.

Not an official video, but here it is for the song:

That "All I Want For Christmas (Is To Rock)" is pretty cool too, mckerney.

I absolutely love The Night Santa Went Crazy, tho I prefer the older lyrics to the newer ones.

Really can't stand most of them, not because I'm a scrooge, but, because, well, most of them just suck ass.

The only song I really like is Christmas in Hollis.

My favorite christmas song is "Last Christmas" by WHAM!.

I've always been a fan of George Michael, plus I'm jewish (though not practicing, in fact we use to put a star of David on top of our Xmas tree) so all of the religious ones don't really hold any meaning for me.

I hate most X-mas tunes, with the exception of the Pogues song, The Little Drummer Boy and one obscure record from when I was a kid.

It was the 70s, so it had these funky-jazzy arrangements of songs like "Roly Poly the Polar Bear," "Morris the Moose," "Who's that up on the Roof," "Donner & Blitzen," etc.

Most people have never heard of it, but those I've talked to who listened to it as a kid have an insane fondness for it.

I am in this boat. 13 years of working retail has given me a real hatred for just about all Christmas songs.
