Maybe it's the uniforms..
As I type this, the USA is losing to Brazil in the Men's Olympic Basketball Qualifiers.
So much for the dream team (too bad the games are on PPV, I have to follow via ESPN's scoreboard ) |

What is this team doing, or not doing lately that they can't win an international game?

Good news, true believers..
The US has gone on a 12-4 run to start the 2nd half to take a 61-51 lead over the Samba Ballers.

It's a topic that's been beat to death, but I think a perfect analogy for American basketball is that (rather ironic) Nike add where a game of basketball eventually breaks down to a one-on-one contest while the rest of the participants end up dejectedly looking on from the floor. The NBAs two decade long reliance on marketing the indivdual over the team has left us with a generation of hoops players who don't looked to have been coached in much but the Isolation. |

Damn, US beats Argentina by only eight. I was expecting the US to come out with a vengance and crush them.
At least we won, though...

That's what happens when Kevin Garnett doesn't play.
And when the pick Nick Collison Even if he doesn't play that selection hurts the team. |

Hey, how about dem dere Canadians sitting their top two or three guys after beating the American's for a quarter. Way to give it a go and see what happens if Nash can play lights out for 3 more quarters.
I know it was a meaningless game so to speak, and they wanted to 'rest' their top players because of a hectic schedule, but you could have at least waited until the States were leading to pull them.

Yeah, thought that was pretty strange of the Canadian coach. Sure, you want to save your best players, but still, you were giving the mighty US of A a run for its money.
I bet Mark Cuban was happy though...

i know this place isn't one to embrace hip-hop culture, but this isn't all it is. the competition has improved by leaps and bounds over the original dream team's version and even though last winter, or whenever it was, was a disgrace, it did only happen in one competition where a lot of our premium players sat out |
