Why is it...

...that the last day of work before vacation drags on and on and then right when you're ready to leave, you get bombarded with urgent tasks?

Isn't that why you are supposed to cut out a 1/2 hour early on that day?

It's too bad those won't get done, they should have planned ahead better.

Actually, I stayed and did them, but it was odd, I had a fairly light day until about 20 minutes before I was going to leave...then:
-1 coworker sent me an email and instant message to ask why something wasn't working for him
-another coworker walked in and handed me something, asked me to review it
-another coworker emailed and called and asked me to make a change that was needed ASAP

These three things happened in a 5 minute span.

I stayed, took about an hour to do all 3, and at least now I don't feel guilty. If only I could stop compulsively checking my work email to see how some testing went today...
