Agreed. Punch Drunk Love was so bad I stopped the DVD about half an hour into it. I simply couldn't bear to watch it any longer. On another note, I think "Airheads" is my favorite... "I ain't fartin' on no snaredrum!" |

I agree, without a doubt Punch Drunk Love was the worst, not just Sandler, but just in general, movie that was ever made.

I see. Carry on.
In actuality I voted for Little Nicky; I haven't seen it, but it looks unbelievably bad.

Actually, Little Nicky's redeeming value was the moderatly amusing cameos that were in it.
But that said, no Adam Sandler movie can be considered good. All of them suck. |

Happy Gilmore is one of the best comedies of the last 10 years.
Billy Madison, Wedding Singer, Mr. Deeds and Airheads are all pretty funny moveis, with the Wedding Singer being the best of that bunch. Waterboy and Big Daddy, are stupid funny in an odd sort of way. Not his best comedic work though. The rest suck. His first couple of CD's are piss your pants funny, IMO.

If that is a digital rectal exam, I would hate to see what a non-digital rectal exam is like.
IMHO, every Adam Sandler movie is, to quote Obi-wan, a "wretched hive of scum and villany."

Punch Drunk Love is a great movie. I own it and my girlfriend and I just watched it again the other night. It is probably my ATF romantic comedy (given most conventional movies in that subgenre suck).

Marmel is 100% correct on everything he just said.
As for the people that think all his movies suck, "I'm comin' out of tha boooooth-ah!!"

I like Happy Gilmore, but don't think it is any more significant than the others on the list, and I think Mr. Deeds is a level below the ones in Marm's list.

Amen to that. I abstain on the grounds that Adam Sandler movies reside in that same plane of existence with 1-800-Collect commercials.

Wow, i'm kind of surprised so many people despise Sandler. Maybe it's just us "young'ins" but all of my friends can't get enough of Sandler (minus Punch Drunk Love and Little Nicky). I'm just curious as to how old you Sandler Haters are?

People who hate Sandler are either dirty elitists, pseudo-intellectuals, or have absolutely no sense of humor.
As far as which of his movies I liked the least, I would have to say Anger Management. It wasn't goofy enough to have such a crappy plot.

Damn, didn't think there would be much this hate for Punch Drunk Love, I thought it was an really good film.
Then again, I'm a huge Paul Thomas Anderson fan, I love all of his movies. Anywho, I really enjoyed it for what it was, an interesting change for the genre. I guess I'm alone in that. |

Airheads, Little Nicky and Bulletproof would be my choices, however I voted for Airheads simply because of Brendan Fraiser. Though I think Airheads really isn't a Sadler movie...Little Nicky is bad, the whole voice thing was icky, Bulletproof was so bad it too me a bit to remember that he did such a movie...
As for Punch Drunk Love, I think its a fantasic movie...Sadler plays someone with an anger problem but not over the top, he's restrained much like Jim Carey in the "Truman Show". I think for anyone expecting over the top bathroom humor, they are going to be disappointed, but I think it's a great couple movie, with some funny parts, some poignant parts, and a good story all around...it's a love story not a comedy.

I just realised another stinker missing from the list:
Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights Not as bad as Little Nicky, but pretty close.

People who like Sandler are either idiots, culturally misguided, or infantile to a ridiculous extreme.
How's ya like that generalization, sport?
