The IRS Cracks Me Up

I am 30 years old and have been paying taxes on jobs since I have been about 15 or 16 years old....and still the IRS cannot get my name spelled correctly on my tax returns. Every year I call the IRS in May and tell them that my name is Brian not BrFian, and each April I get my check in the mail from the with my name spelled BrFian.

Then when I go to cash the check the bank gives me a hard time because my name isn't spelled the same as on my account and driver license, so I have to spend 10 to 15 minutes convincing them that I am BrFian.

The IRS can't get my name right even after repeated attempts of me telling them, but if I didn't send in my taxes they'd be all over my ass. Bastards!

I've just realised my return was filed with my surname incorrectly spelt -I'll probably have a similar issue going forward I'd expect.

The ATM can't question you for 10-15 minutes. You might want to deposit there.

I also got a refund check that had my name misspelled, thankfully I had no problems with it at my bank.

They get your last name right, but mess up with the Brian part?

Maybe your name really is BrFian and your parents just lied to you.

Just a thought, but maybe check with your place of employment.... Is your name spelled right on your W-2 and I-9?

I was thinking of checking with Social Security, too as maybe there is an error in their system and the IRS just matches your SSN with their files.

I blame the Jason / Jayson / Jaysohn / Jasun naming conventions that are coming into vogue...

Just wait until the show and want to know why Brian hasn't paid his taxes and want to know who BrFian is. They'll probably assume it's the alias for the illegal Dominican you smuggled into the country to pitch for the Phillies otherwise known as Claudio Martinez.

Yeah but do you get mail for your parents at your house? Funny thing, we got a piece of mail for my mom and another for my dad on Wed.

My parents ordered us a crib through JC Penney for our first child and had it delivered here. I've been getting mail addressed to them ever since. Gotta love selling mailing lists (NOT).

We just bought our home in January, they haven't sent anything to our house, so I'll never understand why it happens.

Yup. I think it might have something to do with the fact that I bought my parent's car from them and let them use my POS as a trade-in shortly after we bought our house, but I can't confirm it...
