What better, this or Lollapalooza?

This has Clutch, so it is better by default.

If anyone is planning on going, and wants to save the cost of a hotel, let me know. I have a couple of spare rooms that are available.

Interesting. I'm a huge fan of ACL Fest (been three times) but I think the Lollapalooza lineup is way stronger than this one.

But I'm not a DMB fan, so maybe that makes the difference.

I think this has far better depth -- I'm not huge on the headliners at either.

solid lineup.

If you go do yourself a favor and see Reverend Peyton's big damn band. They are alot of fun live. And of course check out Flogging Molly.

I think that's an interesting point -- headliners usually aren't my main draw.

But with all the festivals these days the 'undercard' has a lot of the same names. Most of the smaller acts at ACL that I'm interested in will be closer at Sasquatch and Bumbershoot (both in Wash state) as well...

Sounds good. I'm usually there at least one full day and more often two.

It would be nice to see DMB there. But I'll get the show afterward. The pulls from shows so far this year have been VERY high quality.

Outside of that, it would be awesome to see Lisa Hannigan...though I wish it were with Damien Rice.

Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Flogging Molly and Medeski Martin & Wood all put on ridiculous shows.

MMW sound like a law firm, but they are extremely rockin' and funky psycho-fusion jazz.

If you get bored with the music, Austin and its surrounding area is all you need.
