Almost lost the Coffee Today
Just got back from lunch, and just missed one potentially VERY bad traffic accident.
We're coming back from lunch down a 4 lane street, fairly busy. Goin' about 40. Truck on my right turns into the gas station, blocking our view of this old man in a gigantic caddy, pulling right out in front of us, attempting to turn left. He ain't stopping. He's literally still trying to go across traffic. It was all I could do to miss him by no more than a foot. Thankfully, there was noone coming in opposite traffic, since I was forced to swerve all the way into the other side of the street. Ngggggggggggg. I'm kinda edgy right about now. |

Dola - he wasn't having sex while driving, right (I know that's popular in that area)?

Dolaresponse.
My attention was more reserved for getting the fuck out of the way than looking to see who's in the car. |

You are indeed lucky there was nobody coming from the other direction. If you had swerved to avoid him and then hit someone else yourself the accident would have been YOUR fault and the old man wouldn't have been involved at all. Unfortunately the way our system works you are better off just letting an accident caused by someone else happen rather than trying to avoid it. Not that I am recommending anyone do this. I would rather come away with my life and all of my appendages and lose out a little bit on the insurance game. A sad-but-true fact of yet another aspect of a flawed system.
