Oh, oh well. If someone ever got a real money game going, I'd probably join in (as long as the stakes we're realistic).

Doesnt have to be real money to be fun. I play both and as long as you have good players (this bunch of FOFC players is pretty good) then its fun.

I tend to think with poker, it kind of does. With poker, the fun is in the decision making process staying in or getting out. For play money, why would you ever get out? There is no reason not to chase that 1.8% chance.

Oh, I don't know if I agree with that. If you are naturally competitive when it comes to games and are determined to win, you would want to play your best and not be reckless.

I'm going to sign onto one of these one of these Fridays, if I can ever get freed up kids-wise (i.e. get them to bed) in time. Odds are I wouldn't be around long though, haven't played yet, just watch WSoP/WPT.

I prefer to play against friends for very low stakes or play money like we do here. If I'm going to go try to take hundreds of dollars from people at a poker table, I'd rather not know them

I probably can't play tonight tho.

I am competitive, and that's why when I am risking nothing, I stay in every hand - to try to win. I have played enough poker for funny money to know it bores me to death. Obviously I am not the only one who feels this way. That said, I am with radii on the low stakes thing.

Since we play tournament style, and you score points for tournament victories M-Th, it helps to hone my style for the BIG tournies

Because if you stay in for that long shot draw, you will lose. And, yes since we play sit and go tournaments, you lose, youre out. Play money games can be fun, again, if you are playing with good players (and this bunch is pretty good).

I will probably try this out. Do you have to make an initial deposit upon downloading the software to get their 20% payout? (i.e. Can I play for funny money tonight and then make a deposit later on?)

If I do make a deposit at absolute, who wants the referral fee? The way I see it we might as well milk these guys for as much as we can. They are really never in a position to lose anything.

Allright, what is the deal with online poker downloads? I could never get partypoker to download so I eventually gave up. Now I am trying to get absolutepoker to download is it won't happen. Is there some sort of IE setting that I have to change?

Thanks SF! Customer service got me up and going. (Very impressive and fast. Partypoker never even bothered responding to basically the same questions) So count me in tonight. From just messing around with the program, I am not sure if I would trust this with real money. My screen keeps shifting to black and white and the menu system is a pain in the ass to get working. But let's see how the cards go. (the important part)

illininfan i got that same $10 randomly given to me. Ive since doubled it at the $2 tournament tables. Once I get it up to $50 I will move to the $5 tournament tables and once I get that over $100 I will move to the $10 tables. My master plan is falling into place

it's a sit and go style thing, so when a tournament ends, just sit down and we start up again when we get seven total players

Well first hand of online poker I have ever played and I get 3 kings and my opponent goes all in and beats me with a straight. Glad this wasn't for real money.

Tried to get in, but I had connection issues trying to get to the table. I'll give it one more go, but if I don't get in, I guess I'm out. By the time I eventually get in, everyone will be gone.

Pumpy, I'm guessing we can only "Join Table" when the state of the table is "Registering" but not "Running"....when I try to do so now, I get an error:

tho.exe login password 1 -- Game Clien (rest is cut off)

Crap....tried to join table just now when it was in the registering stage, and it still gave me the error. I just signed up/downloaded a couple of hours ago. Is there some sort of confirmation e-mail I need before joining tables (if so I haven't gotten one yet).

Well....still haven't gotten it. And I've definitely registered - it LOOKS like I can log in, but I guess the game is still "locked". Which is funny as their instructions page made it sound like you couldn't register unless the game was unlocked (which doesn't exactly make sense).

Guess I'm going nowhere for now.
