For those of you who are on Verizon, if you go online into your verizon account they have set up a friends and family plan for qualifying accounts (over a certain number of minutes I think) and you can add up to 10 land or cell lines to people NOT on the Verizon network to have free calls to them. So go over and sign up and get your free minutes. WOOHOO

Does this re-up your contract? I ask because I think I want to get my "Free Every 2" phone before doing it then.

edit: Oh, and just to let you know, you have to have a plan charging $59.99 a month or more for 5 friends; and Family Share for $89.99 or more a month for 10.

I believe this is an outgrowth of their buying out of Alltel as this mimics Alltel's "My Circle" plans.

One of the more interesting things to me about this merger was how Alltel was going to handle their advertising since even as this merger has been ongoing, they've had ads that ridiculed the other carriers including Verizon through their representations as dorky dim-witted service agents. Recently, they've been running the Clyde Drexler basketball ads where they choose teams and they basically digitally replaced two of the competitors with just one. The one dropped from the ad was the Verizon guy. Guess they couldn't have a Chad ad where the Verizon guy comes up to him one day and says, "Your ass is mine now, boy...."

Verizon and alltell both have ads I detest. I do wish Tmo would get the storm though.

Also how much longer is the Iphone exclusive? Forever?

Okay i logged into my account and could not find where to activate this. I have the family plan with three phones. Any tips where i can find this or do i have to call?

Should be right under the picture of your phone when you go into "My Verizon".

yes,,it does... from my perspective it does major suckage...


three years at same address..three years of line problems.. three years of the trained monkeys on the phone telling me its a problem with MY phone.. Every time it takes them a week to come out to look it over. Every single time it is the outside line. Squirrels chew on part of it. Verizon refused to fix it correctly, prefering a patch job.. Squirrels get at it again and when it rains the line goes dead. Now repeat pretty much every single time it rains X 3 years.... They really went gung ho when I complained to the BBB. Had techs(yes, they sent out 2 at once) out here fixing this and that and next day it went out again. Called and was told the techs said they fixed it that morning .. Needless to say I dropped the Verizon lies and crap that day and went with Time Warner digital phone...No problems in three months.... Never will crap from that company cross my door or connect to any portion of my house


edit:Cant complain about the techs except the last two..The others did what they could and told me that main office wont do major repairs because they will be putting in FIOS eventually and dont want to waste money on a brand new line . If true or not I dont know but they did what they could.

If it is "just from your perspective" maybe you should specify rather than making a blanket statement .

Verizon has always had the best cell coverage where ever I've been.

Adding "friends and family" does NOTHING to your contract, it just enables you to not have the time spent talking to those outside vzw that you list count against your out of network minutes.

Maybe where you are they actually have service that works and ineptitude does not exist...Here in my neighborhood, there is no love for Verizon as all our lines are ancient and phone service is spotty on my street..But thats why nearly everyone is a TWC customer now....

Verizon and Verizon Wireless are essentially two different organizations.

ISiddiqui is talking about the cell coverage, you are talking about the quality of land line service.
