Star Wars Clone Wars

Okay a little help from the Star Wars fanatics please. I see that Cartoon Network is advertising the Clone Wars series and am wondering if this is the same as the movie in theaters now, before the move or after the movie. I doubt it is the same as the movie but was wondering exactly where this falls. Thanks in advance as my 9 year old son is a Star Wars nut and inquired when he saw the ad for Cartoon Network.

I haven't seen it yet - I figure its an extension of the movie (ie. same characters but story either before or after the film) its HUGELY unlikely it'd be the actual film, not least because it wouldn't suit serialisation imho.

Takes place between Episodes 2 & 3 and starts where the Clone Wars movie started.

It's a continuation of the movie that is in theaters. The movie, was actually the first few episodes of the TV series, but, Lucas liked it so much, he had them turn into a movie.

As Mustang said, it is set between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

I really like this show a lot. I wish they would mine more of the original trilogy for a show like this.

Rumors still seem to be hanging around that something like that might be the one more thing Lucas wants to do & succeed with, a less explored part of the tale as a live action weekly TV show.
