Quickie help? Avoid the bedroom - think more "walk in closet" or "bathroom vanity". Pick a somewhat uncomfortable position to increase the urgency.

People have been using automobile backseats for a couple of generations, too. That seems to work in a pinch.

Edit: Or just have kids. Once you have kids, all you have time for is quickies.

I wondered that too, although I thought the question might actually be in terms of the meaning of them as emoticons/chatspeak/netspeak/whatever.

I'm somewhat curious to see what the actually intent of the question was.

no , not a joke.. last night my mother, who lives in Poland emailed me this list and wanted to know what they were.and needed them ASAP. I knew the other 50 or so but drew a complete absolute blank with these. Yeah , its embarrasing but I dont give a flying fuck.

This was needed for a class on pronounciation and no one there knew what the correct form was. Once my brain freeze was over and I knew what they were it was easy for me to give the definition and to phonetically write out the sounding of each. So you did a good thing.. Nothing neferious or meant as a joke in this.. Just some old people trying to learn and understand English.

Um " is just a quotation mark, I'm not sure it's referenced as "double" quotes.

(edit) I see it referenced as such now.

Also > is a bracket.

And to get real specific, angle brackets, diamond brackets or chevrons:

My 6th grade algebra teacher used this sign quite a bit.
